  • • KPA is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Risk Management Consultant to join our esteemed Risk Management team. Founded in 1986, KPA has established itself as a premier provider of Workforce Compliance software and consulting services, driven by a core mission: ensuring our clients' employees return home safely each day, free from workplace accidents or injuries. Our integrated approach, combining cutting-edge software, expert consulting, and comprehensive training, empowers clients to proactively identify, effectively remedy, and consistently prevent safety and compliance issues. This allows them to dedicate their focus to their primary business operations, confident in the knowledge that their compliance needs are expertly managed.
  • • As an EHS Risk Management Consultant, you will be instrumental in fostering and maintaining robust relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients. Your role will be pivotal in demonstrating exceptional industry and regulatory expertise through a variety of impactful activities. This includes conducting thorough onsite field audits to assess current safety protocols and identify potential hazards, delivering engaging and informative employee training sessions designed to enhance safety awareness and best practices, and acting as a knowledgeable liaison in regulatory interactions. The ultimate objective of your work is to significantly minimize risk for our clients, thereby enhancing their profitability and operational efficiency.
  • • This position requires a professional, likable, persuasive, and highly customer service-oriented demeanor. You will be the face of KPA for many of our clients, and your ability to build trust, communicate complex information clearly, and offer practical solutions will be paramount to your success and the success of our clients. You will be expected to develop and nurture strong professional relationships with district clients, potential clients, dealer group management, and state dealer associations, understanding their unique challenges and tailoring our services to meet their specific needs.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to developing and implementing customized EHS programs that align with client objectives and regulatory requirements. This involves staying abreast of the latest industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices in environmental, health, and safety management. You will analyze client operations, identify areas of non-compliance or potential risk, and recommend strategic improvements. This might include developing safety manuals, implementing hazard communication programs, conducting job hazard analyses, and advising on personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves conducting comprehensive risk assessments. You will evaluate workplace conditions, employee behaviors, and operational processes to identify potential sources of injury, illness, or environmental damage. Based on these assessments, you will develop actionable plans and provide guidance to clients on how to mitigate identified risks effectively. This proactive approach is key to preventing incidents before they occur.
  • • You will also be responsible for delivering impactful training sessions to client employees at all levels. These trainings will cover a wide range of EHS topics, from basic safety awareness and emergency preparedness to specific regulatory compliance mandates. Your ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences and make complex safety information accessible and engaging will be crucial.
  • • Furthermore, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert guidance on navigating complex regulatory landscapes. This includes assisting clients with understanding and complying with regulations from agencies such as OSHA, EPA, and others relevant to their industry. You will help clients prepare for and respond to regulatory inspections, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet compliance standards.
  • • The role demands a proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple client engagements simultaneously. You will be expected to document your findings, recommendations, and client interactions meticulously, maintaining accurate records for both KPA and the client.
  • • This is a remote position, allowing you to operate from your home office. However, it necessitates frequent travel to clients within your designated territory. This territory covers the Knoxville, TN area. You should anticipate approximately 2-3 weeks of overnight travel per quarter to effectively serve your client base. This blend of remote work and client-facing travel offers a dynamic and rewarding career path for individuals passionate about workplace safety and compliance.
  • • By joining KPA, you become part of a team recognized for its commitment to employee well-being and professional development. We have been honored as one of Built In Colorado’s Best Places to Work for seven consecutive years, a testament to our supportive and collaborative work environment. We are looking for individuals who share our passion for helping clients build safe, thriving organizations and who are eager to contribute to our mission of keeping people safe and businesses working efficiently.
