- • Alight is seeking a highly analytical and proactive ETL & Informatica Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic Applications Support team. This virtual role is crucial for maintaining the stability and driving continuous improvement within our production environments. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our proprietary Leave of Absence Management software platforms, providing 24x7 customer support and resolving incoming issues with efficiency and expertise.
- • As an integral part of our 24x7 support structure, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of technical issues related to ETL and data integration workflows. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the seamless daily operations across our production, QA, and development environments. This involves meticulous monitoring, proactive support, and rapid resolution of incidents, job failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- • You will delve deep into the intricacies of Informatica workflows, mappings, and SQL jobs, diagnosing complex problems and implementing effective solutions. A key aspect of this role is owning and maintaining critical ETL components, including Informatica mappings, metadata, scripts, schedules, and operational procedures. This ownership extends to identifying and implementing opportunities for optimization, enhancing the performance, scalability, and overall reliability of existing data integration processes.
- • Ensuring the stability of our data ingestion pipelines is paramount. You will work with batch, near-realtime, and realtime data patterns, fine-tuning ETL solutions by developing a profound technical understanding of data flows and their upstream and downstream dependencies. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to anticipate potential issues before they impact operations.
- • Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will work closely with Database Administrators (DBAs) and Data Architects to implement robust data partitioning, indexing, and optimization strategies. Your input will be vital in enhancing job performance and ensuring data integrity across the platform.
- • You will also be responsible for developing or modifying SQL scripts, stored procedures, database triggers, and complex queries. These tasks will be integral to resolving incidents, fulfilling change requests, and executing performance tuning initiatives. Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional and offshore teams are essential to ensure timely issue resolution, maintain clear communication channels, and adhere strictly to support Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and established operational guidelines.
- • This role demands exceptional multitasking capabilities. You will manage multiple concurrent support tickets, change requests, and enhancement tasks, skillfully balancing priorities based on business impact and urgency. Your ability to adapt to shifting priorities while remaining focused on objectives will be critical.
- • A strong commitment to quality and compliance is expected. You will ensure all work adheres to published support, development, coding, and testing standards, as well as rigorous change management practices. This includes thorough documentation and adherence to best practices in all aspects of your work.
- • The ideal candidate is a fast learner, fascinated by technology, and possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. You will operate independently in a fast-paced environment, contributing significantly to the Applications Support team's mission of delivering high-quality, reliable support. This role requires US Citizenship due to supporting services for the federal government, and on-call availability is expected as part of this 24x7 operational environment.
