- • Own end-to-end execution of Lightdash’s events strategy, including selecting conferences to attend, determining format (booth, talk, side event, or hosted event), and managing all logistics such as venue booking, vendor coordination, speaker management, registration systems, and on-site execution.
- • Lead the growth and management of Lightdash’s proprietary meetup series, from ideation and scheduling to promotion, facilitation, and post-event follow-up to maximize attendance and engagement.
- • Build and nurture Lightdash’s community of data practitioners across Slack, LinkedIn, and in-person events, identifying key contributors, encouraging participation, and converting passive members into active advocates.
- • Develop and publish marketing content derived from events, product launches, customer conversations, and internal insights, including blog posts, social media updates, newsletters, and community write-ups.
- • Maintain and execute the marketing content calendar, ensuring consistent output across channels and alignment with broader campaign goals and product milestones.
- • Proactively identify and initiate partnership opportunities with influencers, open-source projects, and community leaders in the data and dbt ecosystem to expand Lightdash’s reach and credibility.
- • Collaborate with the Marketing Lead to align events and community initiatives with overall marketing strategy, KPIs, and brand positioning in the emerging Agentic BI category.
- • Manage event assets and collateral, including booth design, digital assets, swag, and presentation materials, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality execution across all touchpoints.
- • Track and report on event and community metrics such as attendance, engagement rates, lead generation, and community growth, using insights to refine future initiatives.
- • Support broader marketing efforts as needed, including social media posting, campaign execution, and content production, adapting quickly to startup priorities and shifting demands.
- • Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance productivity across event planning, content creation, and community outreach.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for speakers, sponsors, vendors, and community members, ensuring clear communication and exceptional experience at every interaction.
- • Stay current with trends in data analytics, dbt, and BI tools to authentically engage with the community and position Lightdash as a thought leader in the space.
- • Represent Lightdash at industry events with confidence, delivering compelling messaging and building genuine relationships with attendees, peers, and potential customers.
- • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer success teams to gather insights that inform community and event content, ensuring alignment between product value and community narrative.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1+ years of experience running events or community programs, in-house or agency
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to craft compelling outreach and engage audiences in person
- • Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, vendors, and logistics without oversight
- • Proficient in using AI tools to enhance productivity and automate workflows
- • Proactive mindset with initiative to identify and execute tasks without being asked
- • Passion for learning all areas of marketing, not limited to one specialty
