- • Design and evolve scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems across frontend, backend, and data layers for Jimdo’s AI-powered platform that helps self-employed users get found online.
- • Lead architectural decisions and define engineering standards by creating and maintaining Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to ensure consistency and quality across the engineering organization.
- • Own and deliver complex technical initiatives end-to-end, translating business goals into actionable technical roadmaps that align with the Get Discovered team’s vision of empowering small businesses to optimize for search and own their digital presence.
- • Mentor engineers and elevate technical excellence through active knowledge sharing, code reviews, and the development of best practices in full-stack development and AI-assisted workflows.
- • Champion AI-first engineering practices by integrating and promoting the use of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar technologies to improve productivity, code quality, and innovation.
- • Drive improvements in testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and system reliability to ensure high-performing, resilient systems that serve millions of users globally.
- • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering leadership to influence strategic direction and ensure technical solutions deliver measurable customer value.
- • Manage operational and technical dependencies with external vendors and partners including Google Workspace, domain providers, email services, and RankingCoach to ensure seamless integration and platform stability.
- • Act as a technical anchor across multiple teams, providing expert guidance on system design, performance optimization, and long-term scalability while maintaining alignment with Jimdo’s mission to simplify business success for solopreneurs.
- • Contribute to the evolution of engineering culture by establishing organization-wide standards for code quality, documentation, automation, and operational excellence.
- • Leverage real customer data to inform technical decisions and build AI-driven insights that guide users toward actionable next steps in growing their businesses.
- • Maintain a strong focus on building products that directly support the success of micro-businesses and self-employed individuals through intuitive, data-informed digital tools.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience in product-led environments, including senior or principal-level responsibilities
- • Expert-level knowledge of modern frontend technologies, particularly React and TypeScript
- • Strong backend expertise with Kotlin, Java, or Node.js
- • Proven track record leading large-scale architectural, platform, or modernization initiatives
- • Deep understanding of distributed systems, software architecture, testing strategies, CI/CD, and observability
- • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar technologies
