• • As an Expert Systems Engineer within the Altera Canada Business Unit at Harris Computer Systems Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of our critical software solutions for Canadian healthcare clients. This is a highly technical position that demands a deep understanding of system architecture, infrastructure management, and application lifecycle support. You will be the technical authority responsible for the end-to-end management of Altera software environments, encompassing everything from initial deployment and intricate configuration to essential upgrades and complex migrations. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability, performance, and scalability of the clinical and financial platforms that healthcare providers depend on daily.
• • Your primary responsibility will be Environment Management, where you will lead the installation, configuration, and provisioning of Altera software. This involves setting up robust and efficient environments tailored to the specific needs of Canadian healthcare organizations, ensuring they are optimized for performance and security from the outset. You will be instrumental in establishing best practices for environment setup and maintenance.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves executing complex software upgrades and data migrations. This requires meticulous planning, precise execution, and a proactive approach to minimize any potential downtime and guarantee the absolute integrity of client data. You will be responsible for managing the entire upgrade lifecycle, from testing in staging environments to successful production rollouts, ensuring a smooth transition for all stakeholders.
• • You will be tasked with managing and maintaining Windows-based server architectures and Microsoft Azure cloud environments. This includes ensuring the health, security, and optimal performance of these underlying infrastructures. Your responsibilities will extend to troubleshooting infrastructure-related issues, implementing necessary patches and updates, and leveraging Azure services to enhance scalability and resilience.
• • Intermediate SQL Server administration is a key component of this role. You will perform essential tasks such as performance tuning to ensure databases run efficiently, writing and optimizing SQL scripts for various operational needs, and adeptly troubleshooting any database-related issues that may arise. A strong understanding of relational database management principles is crucial.
• • To enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort, you will utilize PowerShell scripting to automate repetitive deployment tasks and implement comprehensive system health checks. This proactive approach to automation will streamline operations, improve consistency, and free up valuable time for more strategic initiatives.
• • You will be the primary point of contact for managing and resolving technical issues, utilizing ServiceNow for efficient incident tracking, management, and resolution within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This requires a systematic approach to problem-solving and clear communication with clients and internal teams.
• • Maintaining deployment scripts and documentation is vital for knowledge sharing and future reference. You will use GitHub for version control, ensuring that all scripts and documentation are up-to-date, accessible, and managed effectively within a collaborative framework.
• • This role requires a proactive mindset, a commitment to technical excellence, and the ability to work effectively within a global support team, aligning with North American business hours (CST timezone). Your contributions will be essential in supporting the Altera Canada Business Unit and ensuring client satisfaction through superior technical support and system management.
• • You will also be expected to develop a strong understanding of Altera's specific product suite, including Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM), Sunrise Financial Manager (SFM), CPM (Clinical Performance Management), and Altera Patient Flow. This product expertise will enable you to provide more targeted and effective support and troubleshooting.
• • The position demands exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with Canadian healthcare stakeholders.
