- • Implement Astronomer’s software and services within the core infrastructure of large enterprise customers and prospects to solve mission-critical data challenges.
- • Serve as the primary technical interface between customers, Sales, and Product teams to ensure Astronomer’s platform effectively addresses customer pain points and delivers measurable business value.
- • Guide enterprise customers through complex Apache Airflow deployments, optimizing workflows, scaling pipelines, and ensuring reliability in production environments.
- • Design and deploy cloud-native data architectures using Astronomer’s unified DataOps platform powered by Apache Airflow®.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed systems operating at scale, often under time-sensitive conditions with minimal GUI access.
- • Configure and manage Kubernetes clusters (GKE, EKS, AKS, or OpenShift) to host and operate Astronomer’s platform for enterprise clients.
- • Utilize terminal and CLI tools extensively to interact with infrastructure, automate tasks, and perform diagnostics without graphical interfaces.
- • Analyze and interpret code to understand system behavior, debug integrations, and recommend improvements to data pipelines.
- • Collaborate with customers to map their business objectives to technical solutions using Astronomer’s platform and associated tooling.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across organizations.
- • Maintain version control workflows using git for configuration management, deployment scripts, and infrastructure-as-code changes.
- • Work with cloud provider APIs and tooling (AWS, GCP, Azure) to provision, monitor, and secure data infrastructure.
- • Support customers in regulated environments by ensuring compliance with data governance, security, and audit requirements.
- • Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks using tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible where applicable.
- • Monitor system performance and health using observability tools like Prometheus, Elasticsearch, or HashiCorp Vault.
- • Participate in high-priority customer engagements as part of the SWAT team, responding rapidly to critical incidents and deployment challenges.
- • Continuously learn and adapt to evolving customer use cases, product updates, and industry best practices in DataOps and cloud-native data engineering.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE/EKS/AKS or OpenShift preferred)
- • Expertise in at least one programming language
- • Good understanding of network complexities and architectures
- • Versatile Terminal and CLI user, frequently working without GUI access
- • Experience setting up and troubleshooting distributed systems
- • Experience with at least one major cloud provider API/tooling
