- ⢠The Field Sales Development Representative role at Merck & Co., Inc. is critical to supporting the companyâs customer-centric business model by engaging face-to-face and virtually with customers in vacant territories across the United States, building strong relationships, and consulting to offer the right companion animal health solutions.
- ⢠Day-to-day responsibilities include understanding and identifying veterinary clinic and corporate account customer needs, selling Merckâs Animal Health products, supporting pull-through activities aligned with customer strategy, and ensuring the company is viewed as delivering value and technical innovation under its âScience of Healthier AnimalsÂŽâ strategic focus.
- ⢠The role operates within the Companion Animal Field Sales Team, working closely with Regional Managers who hold quota responsibility for vacant territories, and involves temporary residence in assigned territories with frequent relocation based on business needs.
- ⢠The position offers opportunities to develop expertise in animal health sales, build strategic customer relationships, analyze sales performance, manage expenses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Professional Services Veterinarians, with top performers potentially considered for future field-based sales roles requiring relocation.
đŻ Requirements
- ⢠Bachelorâs degree (4-year college degree preferred but not required) or equivalent work experience
- ⢠Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- ⢠Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing environment
- ⢠Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% nationally
- ⢠Documented sales experience (preferred)
- ⢠Experience selling animal health products and services through veterinary and/or shelter channels (preferred)
