• • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Director to spearhead the development and professionalization of our finance function, preparing it for the company's next phase of significant growth. While we have achieved substantial scale through resourcefulness and a lean finance team, we now require a strategic leader to build robust financial infrastructure without compromising our agility and speed.
• • This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of a functioning financial system, elevate existing processes, and build a high-performing finance team. You will inherit a well-established foundation, including external accounting support in the UK and Australia, Rippling for payroll, and existing systems like Xero, Chargebee, and Airwallex. A dedicated Family Office FD has laid strong groundwork and will remain involved in an oversight capacity, providing a solid base for you to build upon.
• • **OWN THE NUMBERS:** You will be responsible for the comprehensive financial model, including accurate forecasting, scenario planning, cash runway analysis, and sensitivity assessments. This involves proactively answering critical business questions, such as the financial implications of accelerating market expansion, and providing data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions. Your focus will be on forward-looking analysis and pressure-testing future business plans, rather than solely reporting historical performance.
• • **RUN THE MACHINE:** A key responsibility will be to streamline and systematize core financial operations. This includes managing the month-end close process across multiple entities, overseeing payroll in various countries, handling multi-currency treasury functions, and managing intercompany accounting. You will also be responsible for accurate revenue recognition within a subscription model, efficient billing and collections, and precise commission calculations. The goal is to eliminate the need for ad-hoc heroic efforts each month by establishing robust, automated processes.
• • **BUILD THE TEAM:** You will have the opportunity to recruit, mentor, and lead a small, highly effective finance team, likely comprising 1-2 individuals focused on finance operations. Our operational philosophy is automation-first; therefore, all processes you design should be scalable and efficient, minimizing reliance on headcount. You will set high standards for performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
