đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Finance Intern at Acorns, you will play a vital role in supporting the company’s mission to democratize financial wellness by providing data-driven insights that empower strategic decision-making across product, engineering, marketing, and operations teams. Your contributions will directly influence how Acorns scales its innovative micro-investing platform to serve millions of everyday Americans seeking to build long-term financial health.
  • • You will assist in building and updating dynamic financial models and scenario analyses to support long-term forecasting, helping leadership evaluate the financial impact of new product features, market expansions, and operational initiatives under varying economic conditions.
  • • You will partner closely with Product, Marketing, and Data teams to translate complex financial data into actionable insights, ensuring that business initiatives are grounded in sound financial reasoning and aligned with company-wide growth objectives.
  • • You will streamline finance workflows by identifying manual processes ripe for automation, enhancing existing analytical tools (such as Excel-based models or dashboards), and proposing efficiency improvements that reduce turnaround time for financial reporting and analysis.
  • • You will contribute to ad-hoc analyses and high-impact presentations — including executive summaries, board-ready decks, and cross-functional updates — that provide leadership with clear, timely visibility into Acorns’ financial health, key performance indicators, and emerging risks or opportunities.
  • • You will develop a deep, holistic understanding of Acorns’ business model, product ecosystem (including Acorns Early, Acorns Later, and Acorns Spend), and competitive landscape in the fintech space, enabling you to contextualize financial trends within broader industry shifts and consumer behavior patterns.
  • • You will join a mission-driven team that values compassion, integrity, boldness, trust, and relentless growth — working alongside colleagues who are not only experts in their fields but also deeply committed to using finance as a force for societal good, helping to close the wealth gap one micro-investment at a time.
  • • Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in corporate finance within a high-growth, purpose-led fintech environment, building technical proficiency in financial modeling and analysis while cultivating the leadership, communication, and ownership mindset needed to thrive in future finance or strategy roles.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Junior standing (graduating 2027) majoring in Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • • Must be available for full-time (40 hours/week) participation in the 10-week internship starting June 2026, based in New York with reliable commute to the office for at least 2 days per week
  • • Excellent proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, specifically for financial modeling, including formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization
  • • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present financial and operational data in a clear, logical, and compelling manner
  • • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create persuasive presentations for both peer and executive audiences
  • • Demonstrated ownership mindset, attention to detail, self-starting attitude, and resilience in delivering high-quality work under pressure
  • • Genuine belief in the mission of financial wellness and optimism about the potential for technology-driven societal change

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive hourly wage of $22.50/hour
  • • Flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement (minimum 2 days/week in office)
  • • Access to monthly events, panel discussions, and speaker series featuring industry leaders and internal experts
  • • Opportunity to work with a talented, mission-aligned team that fosters deep collaboration, mutual support, and a shared commitment to creating meaningful societal impact
  • • Rare chance to contribute to a transformative fintech company recognized as one of Time’s “World’s Best Brands of 2024,” helping over 14 million users save and invest over $25 billion since 2014
