- • Serve as Finance Manager for DSL-01, Europe’s first large-scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production facility in Delfzijl, overseeing the transition from project phase to operational readiness.
- • Establish and manage the financial function for the new facility, ensuring robust financial controls, transparent reporting, and compliance from day one of operations.
- • Lead project cost control activities including CAPEX monitoring, budget tracking, forecasting, and financial analysis to support key project decisions during construction.
- • Monitor project expenditures, commitments, and variances against budget, providing clear financial insights to project and management teams.
- • Prepare and deliver monthly project and group financial reports with actionable analyses to support governance, investor reporting, and stakeholder decision-making.
- • Coordinate financial matters with external auditors, advisors, and Group Finance to ensure alignment and compliance across all reporting and audit requirements.
- • Support governance processes including reporting to shareholders, financiers, and governing bodies with accurate, timely financial data.
- • Design and implement financial processes for the operational phase of the SAF facility, including accounting, tax, excise, and reporting systems.
- • Assist in the implementation and configuration of ERP systems to ensure accurate financial data flow and integration across finance and operations.
- • Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and excise duties specific to energy and chemical production environments.
- • Build a reliable reporting structure for operational performance, enabling data-driven decision-making by the Site Director and Plant Manager.
- • Act as a finance business partner to operational leadership, translating financial data into strategic insights that support production efficiency and cost optimization.
- • Collaborate with Group Finance to align local financial processes with corporate standards while adapting to the unique needs of the new facility.
- • Drive financial transparency throughout the construction phase, ensuring all stakeholders have access to accurate, understandable financial information.
- • Take ownership of building financial foundations from scratch in a dynamic, evolving environment where processes are not yet standardized.
- • Apply strong analytical skills to convert complex financial data into clear, actionable business insights that guide investment, operational, and strategic decisions.
- • Work closely with the Site Director, Plant Manager, and cross-functional teams to integrate financial planning with project execution and operational planning.
- • Contribute to the realization of a facility that produces 100,000 tons of SAF and 35,000 tons of sustainable by-products annually, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 80% compared to fossil kerosine.
- • Operate in alignment with international standards and Dutch regulatory frameworks, prioritizing safety, sustainability, and collaboration in all financial activities.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in finance, project controlling, or project finance within an industrial, energy, or capital-intensive environment
- • Proven experience managing large-scale CAPEX projects and understanding financial steering in complex project settings
- • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, cash flow management, and tax-related matters
- • Experience with excise duties, energy, chemical, or production environments is a strong advantage
- • Fluent in both Dutch and English, both spoken and written
- • Willing to relocate to or reside in or near Delfzijl in the short term
