đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the full order-to-cash cycle for Kit’s Newsletter Sponsorships program, including invoicing brands, collecting payments, and paying creators upon receipt of brand funds.
  • • Execute monthly finance close within business days 1–4, ensuring all receivables, payouts, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable aging using Bill.com, initiating automated reminders and manual follow-ups at 45, 60, and 90 days for delinquent invoices.
  • • Reconcile monthly payment data between QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Mode reporting, and the internal Google Sheets financial tracker to ensure zero variance across systems.
  • • Process creator payouts via the Kit Admin payout portal, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements aligned with brand payment receipts and CPC/CPM performance data from Mode.
  • • Manage insertion order documentation and ensure proper booking of sponsorships into financial systems, distinguishing between Performance Ads (CPC) and Programmatic placements.
  • • Identify and document manual gaps in the finance workflow—such as sync issues between tools or international payout delays—and partner with engineering to automate or resolve them.
  • • Maintain and update SOPs, Loom walkthroughs, and process maps for Newsletter Sponsorships finance operations, ensuring continuity and audit readiness.
  • • Serve as the primary finance point of contact for brands regarding invoicing, payment status, and collections, communicating professionally and promptly via email.

  • • Collaborate with the Sponsorships Project Manager, Accounting Manager, and engineering teams to improve tooling, reduce manual work, and transition from spreadsheets to scalable systems.
  • • Handle large transactional datasets from Stripe, Mode, and other payment platforms, using advanced Google Sheets functions (filter views, data validation, multi-tab workflows) to maintain data hygiene.
  • • Support month-end close activities with precision, ensuring all revenue recognition, payout accruals, and reconciliations comply with accounting standards.
  • • Take on additional finance operations tasks as assigned by the Finance & Accounting team, adapting to evolving priorities and process improvements.
  • • Operate independently in a remote, async environment with high ownership, meeting deadlines without constant oversight and maintaining meticulous records.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3+ years in finance or accounting operations with direct ownership of accounts receivable, collections, or creator payouts
  • • Proven experience with month-end close processes under strict deadlines
  • • Hands-on experience with Stripe or a comparable payments platform at volume
  • • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, including large multi-tab workbooks and disciplined data hygiene
  • • Full-cycle accounts receivable experience: invoicing, cash application, aging management, and dunning
  • • Comfort with reconciling subledgers and payment exports to the penny across multiple systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Bill.com)

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Contract rate of $5,800 to $6,600/month depending on experience
  • • Fully remote work with flexibility within East Coast core hours (11:00 AM–5:00 PM ET)
  • • Opportunity to work with a mission-driven team focused on empowering creators
  • • Direct collaboration with finance, engineering, and product teams to improve automation and systems
