Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As a pivotal member of the Finance and Strategy team at Hopper Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping the financial architecture and strategic direction of our rapidly growing travel technology company. This role transcends traditional financial analysis; it's about building the very systems that drive our business forward across B2C, Media, and Sales verticals. You will be a "Finance Engineer," merging deep financial acumen with cutting-edge AI capabilities to empower leaders with data-driven insights for high-stakes decision-making.
- • Your primary mission will involve moving beyond manual, static financial modeling. We are seeking a proactive builder who views advanced AI tools, such as Claude and other Large Language Models (LLMs), as integral teammates. You will leverage these tools to automate complex workflows, architect sophisticated SQL queries, and develop robust, long-term Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) tooling. Whether you are collaborating with AI to enhance our financial systems or presenting critical budget updates to executive leadership, you will thrive in this dynamic environment.
- • A significant aspect of your role will be Business Partnering. You will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating intricate operational drivers into automated, actionable reporting metrics. This will enable them to make more informed and strategic decisions, directly impacting business performance and growth.
- • You will focus on Predictive Strategic Planning, architecting long-range forecasting models and engines that surpass the limitations of traditional spreadsheets. This involves utilizing AI to simulate complex "what-if" scenarios, equipping the business to navigate short-term market volatility while simultaneously constructing a resilient, code-based roadmap for the next 3–5 years.
- • A core responsibility will be the development and maintenance of Technical Infrastructure & Automation. You will build and manage the code-based systems that form the backbone of our finance engine. This includes leveraging AI tools to write, debug, and optimize complex SQL and Big Query workflows, automating real-time dashboards and weekly performance briefings. The goal is to ensure our financial reporting is not only accurate but also highly scalable and automated.
- • You will play a key role in Go-To-Market (GTM) & Sales Architecture. Partnering closely with the Sales and Media teams, you will engineer high-leverage GTM strategies. This involves designing automated frameworks to meticulously track sales velocity, Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC), and pipeline health. You will use AI to model intricate incentive structures and conduct ROI simulations, ensuring sales behaviors are strategically aligned with our long-term financial objectives.
- • This role demands a builder's mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to work autonomously. You will be empowered to innovate and drive significant impact within small, dynamic teams. Your contributions will be directly visible and crucial to Hopper's mission of becoming the leading global travel platform, powering both our B2C app and our B2B HTS division.
- • You will be at the forefront of integrating AI into financial operations, creating efficiencies and unlocking new strategic possibilities. This includes developing sophisticated financial models that can adapt to market changes, optimizing resource allocation, and providing predictive insights that give Hopper a competitive edge in the fast-paced travel industry. Your work will directly influence strategic investments, product development, and market expansion initiatives.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of unit economics, particularly within B2B contexts, and be adept at translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable strategies for non-finance stakeholders. You will be a key contributor to Hopper's financial strategy, ensuring alignment between operational execution and long-term financial goals. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of finance within a disruptive technology company.
