Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As a pivotal member of the Finance and Strategy team at Hopper Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping the company's financial architecture and strategic direction. This role transcends traditional financial reporting; you will be a builder, architecting the very systems that drive our business forward across our B2C, Media, and Sales verticals.
- • Your core mission will involve merging profound financial acumen with cutting-edge AI-accelerated technical execution. We are actively moving away from manual, static financial modeling. Instead, we seek a proactive builder who views Large Language Models (LLMs) like Claude as integral team members, capable of automating complex workflows, architecting sophisticated SQL queries, and developing robust, long-term Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) tooling.
- • You will thrive in an environment where you can seamlessly transition between collaborating with AI to enhance operational tools and presenting critical budget updates to senior leadership. Your ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely will be paramount.
- • **Business Partnering & Financial Engineering:** You will serve as a "Finance Engineer" for business leaders, acting as a strategic partner to translate intricate operational drivers into automated, actionable metrics. This will empower leaders to make more informed, data-driven strategic decisions that align with company objectives.
- • **Predictive Strategic Planning:** A significant focus of this role is architecting advanced, long-range forecasting models and engines. Moving beyond the limitations of static spreadsheets, you will leverage AI to simulate complex "what-if" scenarios. This proactive approach will enable the business to effectively navigate short-term market volatility while simultaneously constructing a resilient, code-based roadmap for the next 3–5 years.
- • **Technical Infrastructure & Automation:** You will be responsible for building and maintaining the sophisticated code-based systems that form the backbone of our finance engine. This involves leveraging AI tools, such as Claude, to write, debug, and optimize complex SQL and BigQuery workflows. The goal is to automate real-time dashboards and weekly performance briefings, ensuring our financial reporting is not only accurate but also highly scalable and efficient.
- • **Go-To-Market (GTM) & Sales Architecture:** You will collaborate closely with the Sales and Media teams to engineer high-leverage Go-To-Market strategies. This includes designing automated frameworks for tracking key performance indicators such as sales velocity, Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and pipeline health. Utilizing AI, you will model intricate incentive structures and conduct ROI simulations to ensure sales behaviors are optimally aligned with our long-term financial goals and strategic vision.
- • **Impact and Innovation:** This role offers a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact within a fast-growing, innovative travel technology company. You will be at the forefront of integrating AI into core financial operations, driving efficiency, and enabling strategic decision-making at the highest levels.
- • **Collaboration and Autonomy:** While working autonomously and demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit, you will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business leadership, to achieve shared objectives. Your ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic, remote environment will be key to your success.
- • **Continuous Improvement:** You will be encouraged to continuously explore and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance financial processes, reporting, and strategic planning capabilities, ensuring Hopper remains at the cutting edge of financial operations in the tech industry.
