  • • MUBI, a globally recognized streaming service, production company, and film distributor, is dedicated to championing and elevating great cinema. Our mission is to make visionary films accessible to audiences worldwide, a goal made possible by our team of brilliant, dedicated, and passionate individuals. With operations spanning from London to New York, Istanbul to Paris, and Berlin to Mexico, we foster a collaborative environment where creativity and commercial discipline converge. This is your opportunity to join our global team and contribute to making exceptional cinema available to everyone, everywhere.
  • • As a Financial Accountant in Cologne, you will play a pivotal role in our European financial operations. Your responsibilities will encompass the meticulous balancing of day-to-day accounting precision with the exciting evolution of our global internal systems. You will directly influence the financial health of our local operations, managing critical tasks such as accounts payable, the monthly close process, and the accurate handling of statements and invoices. This position is ideally suited for a collaborative professional who possesses a strong affinity for numbers, thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and is eager to contribute to a company that values both artistic vision and sound financial management. Our work model is hybrid-remote, requiring three days per week in our Cologne office, with core days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The remaining two days offer flexibility, allowing you to work from the office if preferred.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing general financial operations, which involves the precise processing of accounts payable, managing travel expenses, and the administration of corporate credit cards. You will be actively involved in the crucial monthly accounting close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. A significant part of your role will be the diligent management of distributor statements and royalty invoices, requiring keen attention to detail and a thorough understanding of contractual obligations. You will also provide essential support to the broader accounting department in various administrative processes, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team. Furthermore, you will play a supportive role in the ongoing software migration to NetSuite, assisting in the transition and ensuring data integrity.
  • • You will be joining a dynamic and growing team within MUBI, a company at the forefront of the film industry, blending artistic passion with robust business operations. This role offers a unique chance to work within a company that is deeply committed to making great cinema accessible globally. You will be part of a culture that values diverse perspectives and believes that different backgrounds foster innovation and engagement, enabling us to attract top talent and develop the best possible experience for our users.
  • • In this role, you will gain invaluable experience in financial accounting within a GmbH environment, specifically within a mid-sized business context. You will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of accounting principles and practices while contributing to a significant software migration project, gaining hands-on experience with NetSuite. This position offers a platform for professional growth, allowing you to develop new processes and enhance your skills in a supportive and collaborative setting. You will also have the chance to immerse yourself in the film industry, combining your financial expertise with a passion for cinema, and contributing to a company that is making a real impact on how people experience film.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Experience in accounting within a GmbH environment, ideally for a mid-sized business with revenues between €5M and €50M.
  • • Proficiency with DATEV; experience with NetSuite is considered an advantage.
  • • Familiarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Sheets or Excel.
  • • Proficiency in written and spoken English and German.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Hybrid-remote work model with 3 office days in Cologne (core days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
  • • Opportunity to work in the film industry with a company dedicated to making great cinema accessible.
  • • Collaborative and dynamic work environment with passionate professionals.
