📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting process for all General & Administrative (G&A) departments—HR, Legal, IT, Facilities—guiding each leader through annual target-setting, quarterly re-forecasts, and rolling twelve-month outlooks that directly influence Redwood’s strategic roadmap.
• • Build sophisticated, scenario-based financial models in Excel/Sheets that translate operational drivers into clear Opex projections, stress-testing assumptions around headcount, vendor spend, and technology investments so leadership can see risks and upside before they materialize.
• • Deliver razor-sharp variance analysis each month, diving deep into budget vs. actual results, isolating root causes, and packaging findings into concise, visually compelling decks that enable executives to make rapid, data-driven decisions.
• • Design and maintain a living KPI dashboard that tracks Opex efficiency ratios, cost-per-employee metrics, and vendor concentration trends; refresh it weekly so stakeholders always have a real-time pulse on financial health.
• • Partner with Accounting during month-end close to validate accruals, prepaids, and departmental allocations, ensuring every G&A dollar is properly classified and explained in management reporting.
• • Drive continuous process improvement by automating recurring reports, eliminating manual data pulls, and integrating Workday and Adaptive Planning (or similar tools) to cut close-cycle time and free the team for higher-value analysis.
• • Act as the finance business partner to G&A leaders—translating complex numbers into plain-English insights, challenging assumptions, and jointly identifying cost-saving or investment opportunities that align with Redwood’s “lights-out automation” mission.
• • Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue Operations, Sales Finance, and Product Finance to ensure G&A forecasts are fully synchronized with company-wide growth plans and SaaS metrics such as ARR, net retention, and magic number.
• • Prepare board-ready materials for CFO and VP Finance, including executive summaries, bridge charts, and sensitivity tables that spotlight key Opex levers and their impact on EBITDA and cash runway.
• • Champion a culture of fiscal discipline by training budget owners on best-practice requisition workflows, purchase-order compliance, and spend-approval thresholds—turning finance from “police” into trusted advisor.
• • Stay ahead of macroeconomic and industry trends (cloud infrastructure pricing, talent market shifts, regulatory changes) and translate external signals into timely forecast adjustments and scenario plans.
• • Maintain meticulous documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and data sources to ensure audit readiness and smooth knowledge transfer across the global finance team.
• • Thrive in a 100 % remote environment by proactively communicating across EST–CST time zones, running effective virtual meetings, and using Slack, Zoom, and collaborative dashboards to keep stakeholders aligned and engaged.
• • Bring curiosity and a growth mindset—experiment with new BI tools, pilot AI-driven forecasting techniques, and share learnings in weekly finance huddles so Redwood stays at the cutting edge of SaaS finance excellence.
