- • As a Financial Analyst II at NerdWallet, you will play a meaningful role in supporting the corporate finance function by partnering with stakeholders across the business to help them understand financial performance, make informed decisions, and plan for the future. This role sits at the intersection of analysis, storytelling, and partnership—you’ll not only work with the numbers, but also help translate them into insights that drive action.
- • You will contribute to core FP&A processes including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning, while also supporting month-end close and ongoing financial reporting. You’ll build and maintain financial models, analyze trends and variances, and provide visibility into key performance indicators. Along the way, you’ll develop strong business partnership skills, gain exposure to senior stakeholders, and deepen your understanding of how finance supports a growing, dynamic company.
- • You’ll operate with moderate independence while learning from a supportive team that values curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement. This role reports to the Director, Corporate Finance and is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working cross-functionally, and continuing to grow their financial skillset in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include partnering with stakeholders across assigned departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and expense management; building, maintaining, and improving financial models used for planning and decision-making; tracking and reporting on performance against KPIs, budgets, and forecasts, highlighting key variances and trends; preparing recurring financial reports and variance analyses, identifying risks and opportunities; translating financial data into clear, actionable insights for both finance and non-finance audiences; collaborating with Accounting during month-end close, including accruals and expense tracking; supporting annual planning cycles and periodic forecasts by compiling data, validating assumptions, and modeling scenarios; and contributing to improving financial processes, reporting, and systems with a focus on efficiency and scalability.
- • Success in this role looks like delivering accurate, timely, and reliable financial analysis that stakeholders trust; building strong cross-functional relationships and becoming a valued thought partner to the teams you support; proactively identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and communicating them clearly; proactively leveraging AI and automation to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and focus your time on higher-impact analysis and insights; managing competing priorities effectively and consistently meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality; demonstrating strong attention to detail while maintaining a clear view of the bigger picture; taking ownership of your work, asking thoughtful questions, and continuously improving your skills and processes; and being open to feedback, eager to learn, and actively contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- • You will have the opportunity to grow your expertise in financial planning and analysis, gain exposure to senior leadership, and develop strategic thinking skills that are essential for advancing in corporate finance. NerdWallet’s commitment to employee development means you’ll be supported in pursuing certifications, attending training, and taking on stretch assignments that align with your career goals.
- • The company fosters a collaborative and flexible environment where team members are empowered to grow, take thoughtful risks, and contribute meaningfully. Whether remote or in-office, NerdWallet supports how you work most effectively and invests in your development, well-being, and ability to deliver impact.
