- • As a Financial Controller at Scale Army, you will be instrumental in shaping and managing the financial health of a rapidly expanding national real estate investment group. This pivotal role demands a meticulous and strategic approach to financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful reporting across multiple companies and entities. You will serve as the primary financial steward, overseeing everything from daily transactional integrity to high-level investor communications and strategic financial analysis.
- • Your core responsibility will be to maintain the integrity of financial records. This involves performing daily bank, credit card, and account reconciliations with unwavering accuracy. You will ensure that all books are real-time and audit-ready, with every transaction meticulously categorized. This foundational work is critical for providing a clear and reliable financial picture.
- • You will be the gatekeeper for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). For AP, this means managing the entire lifecycle from invoice intake and vendor communication to securing necessary approvals and executing timely bill payments. For AR, your duties will include generating invoices, actively pursuing collections, and accurately posting incoming payments. Maintaining clear, organized financial documentation and folder structures will be paramount to ensuring smooth operations and audit preparedness.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves robust financial reporting. You will be responsible for preparing weekly cash-flow snapshots and liquidity analyses, providing leadership with an immediate understanding of the company's financial standing. Weekly AP and AR aging reports, complete with actionable recommendations, will be generated to proactively manage outstanding balances. Furthermore, you will analyze spending trends, offering insightful commentary to inform strategic decisions and updating dashboards and financial visibility tools to ensure leadership has access to the most current financial data.
- • The monthly and quarterly financial close processes will fall under your purview. You will meticulously prepare essential financial statements, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow statements, and consolidated reports across all entities. Your expertise will be crucial in assisting with tax categorization, managing depreciation schedules, and liaising with external CPAs. This role also plays a vital part in supporting investor relations, including assisting with the calculation and generation of investor distribution statements and payouts, preparing investor-facing financial reports, and compiling data packages for fund-level reporting and investor due diligence.
- • Investor relations support is a key differentiator for this position. You will directly contribute to building and maintaining strong relationships with investors by ensuring the accuracy and professionalism of all financial communications. This includes preparing detailed investor distribution statements, facilitating payouts, and providing comprehensive quarterly reporting. You will meticulously track investor contributions, distributions, and capital accounts, ensuring transparency and trust.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a CPA-level understanding or equivalent certification, demonstrating a deep command of U.S. accounting principles. Controller-level experience, or a proven ability to operate at this strategic level, is essential. A minimum of 4 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience, with a specific focus on multi-entity accounting, is required. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, and experience with bill-pay platforms are non-negotiable. While not strictly mandatory, experience in real estate accounting (including construction, fix-and-flip, wholesale, or fund accounting) and prior support for investor relations, fund administration, lender packages, audits, or due diligence reporting will be highly advantageous.
- • Success in this role will be measured by the consistent accuracy and timeliness of financial management across all entities, the delivery of high-quality investor reporting, and the establishment of strong financial visibility for leadership. Your ability to maintain well-organized documentation and reliable accounting systems will be a hallmark of your contribution.
- • This is a unique opportunity to become an indispensable financial partner within a dynamic and growing real estate investment group. You will have direct influence on leadership decisions, play a critical role in investor communications, and gain extensive experience in complex multi-entity financial environments, all within a fully remote work setting. The role offers the potential for long-term career growth and significant professional impact.
