- • Monitor and analyze financial transactions to identify suspicious activity linked to money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes in alignment with regulatory requirements.
- • Conduct detailed reviews of customer transaction patterns to detect anomalies that may indicate illicit financial behavior.
- • Investigate alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system, gathering and evaluating supporting documentation to determine if cases warrant further action or reporting.
- • Collaborate with internal teams including Compliance, Risk, and Customer Service to gather context and resolve flagged transactions efficiently.
- • Document all investigation steps, findings, and outcomes in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- • Escalate high-risk cases to senior Financial Crime Analysts or the Financial Intelligence Unit as required.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the transaction monitoring platform and internal case management systems.
- • Stay current with evolving financial crime typologies, regulatory updates, and industry best practices to enhance detection accuracy.
- • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to share insights and improve collective detection capabilities.
- • Work within a hybrid model: three days per week in the Manchester office, with two days remote.
- • Work 7.5-hour shifts between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday, with rotating weekend coverage required every other week.
- • Work designated bank holidays as scheduled, with time in lieu granted for each holiday worked.
- • Receive one weekday off in compensation for each weekend day worked.
- • Operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with high volume and time-sensitive investigations.
- • Adhere strictly to data privacy, confidentiality, and compliance protocols at all times.
- • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on system alerts, process inefficiencies, and detection thresholds.
- • Support audit readiness by ensuring all investigations are thoroughly documented and traceable.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in transaction monitoring, financial crime detection, or anti-money laundering (AML) operations
- • Strong understanding of financial regulations related to money laundering and fraud prevention
- • Ability to analyze complex transaction data and identify patterns indicative of financial crime
- • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting
- • Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and bank holidays
- • Proficiency in using transaction monitoring systems and case management tools
