  • • As a Financial Crimes Analyst at Wayflyer Limited in Sydney, you will serve as the dedicated compliance partner for the Australian Sales team, providing real-time AML guidance and resolving onboarding roadblocks during local business hours to ensure smooth customer acquisition while maintaining regulatory integrity.
  • • You will conduct thorough investigations of Wayflyer customers using internal systems and open-source intelligence to identify potential financial crime risks, perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and review transaction activity to detect and assess suspicious patterns requiring further action.
  • • Supporting the MLRO, you will contribute to the ongoing design, implementation, and oversight of the company’s AML framework across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring policies remain effective, up-to-date, and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.
  • • You will act as a go-to subject matter expert on AML, sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption topics, advising cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and Product on compliance implications of business decisions and special contractual terms.
  • • Your responsibilities include ensuring accurate record-keeping, preparing and filing regulatory reports such as Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and proactively reviewing existing processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for smarter risk mitigation.
  • • You will collaborate closely with Sales and Legal teams to draft and update customer contracts, ensuring special terms and conditions comply with financial crime regulations without hindering business agility.
  • • Operating in a fast-paced, global scale-up environment, you will exercise autonomy and initiative, making informed decisions while balancing risk, growth, and speed — particularly during periods when Northern Hemisphere teams are offline.

  • • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in fintech-specific financial crime risks, build influence as a trusted compliance advisor, and grow your career in a rapidly expanding organization that values proactive problem-solving and ownership.
