📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end design of AI-powered prototypes that eliminate repetitive, error-prone tasks in month-end close, cash-flow forecasting, and inter-company reconciliations. You will start with pain-point interviews across Accounting, FP&A, and Risk, translate findings into user stories, and rapidly iterate on solutions using Gemini, GPT, and open-source LLM frameworks.
• • Build production-grade Python pipelines that ingest raw trial-balance exports, bank statements, and CRM data, then apply data-quality rules, anomaly detection, and predictive models to surface insights before humans even open a spreadsheet. Your code will run in Google Cloud Functions and be version-controlled in GitHub with peer reviews from senior engineers.
• • Create dynamic dashboards in Power BI and Google Looker Studio that turn static financial reports into living documents. Stakeholders will be able to slice revenue by product line, geography, and customer cohort in real time, replacing the Friday-afternoon scramble for numbers with a single click.
• • Establish a reusable library of finance-automation templates—think “one-click reconciliation bot” or “variance-explainer macro”—and document each with step-by-step runbooks, security checklists, and short Loom videos so teammates can replicate your wins without starting from scratch.
• • Partner with Risk & Compliance to embed least-privilege access controls, audit trails, and encryption standards into every workflow. You will test your solutions against SOC 2 and SOX requirements, ensuring that speed never compromises governance.
• • Present findings every two weeks to the VP of Finance and the CTO in concise, story-driven demos that quantify time saved, error rates reduced, and strategic questions answered. Your work will directly influence Intersect’s 2025 automation roadmap and may become a permanent product offering for our clean-energy clients.
• • Join a cohort of interns across Data Science, Product, and Engineering for weekly “Automation Hack Hours,” where you’ll swap techniques, troubleshoot gnarly datasets, and celebrate small wins with virtual confetti. Past interns have shipped features that cut invoice-processing time by 60 %—your project could be next.
• • Travel to one of our Hub cities (SF, NYC, Denver, Houston, Calgary, or Toronto) for a three-day Team Week each quarter. You’ll whiteboard architecture diagrams on real walls, share late-night ramen with mentors, and present your final prototype to the entire company on Demo Day.
