- • Embark on a pivotal journey as a Senior Financial Analyst within Nielsen's dynamic Audience Measurement FP&A team, where you will be instrumental in shaping the financial trajectory of our IT & Data Solutions (ITDS) division. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the financial intricacies of a business unit responsible for approximately $600 million in annual spend, driving strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis and robust reporting.
- • Your core mission will revolve around transforming raw financial data into clear, actionable intelligence. You will not merely crunch numbers; you will become a trusted advisor, understanding the underlying business context to proactively identify emerging trends, capitalize on opportunities, and effectively mitigate financial risks. This role demands a blend of analytical rigor and business acumen, enabling you to provide strategic guidance that fosters growth and operational excellence.
- • **In-Depth Financial Analysis & Reporting:**
- • Develop, refine, and meticulously maintain sophisticated financial models that underpin our forecasting and planning processes. These models will encompass a comprehensive view of costs, including detailed breakdowns of people costs, non-people expenses, and capital expenditures, ensuring accuracy and foresight.
- • Prepare and deliver high-caliber monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. These reports will go beyond simple data presentation, featuring in-depth variance analysis, insightful trend identification, and clear explanations of financial performance against budget and forecast.
- • Conduct thorough investigations into any financial discrepancies or anomalies, providing clear, concise explanations and robust supporting documentation. Your diligence will be key to upholding the integrity and accuracy of our financial data.
- • Generate and monitor Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports, critically analyzing how these indicators directly relate to and influence business operations, providing a clear line of sight from financial metrics to operational outcomes.
- • **Actionable Insight Generation:**
- • Leverage your analytical prowess to dissect financial data, uncovering critical trends, identifying patterns, and pinpointing potential financial risks or untapped opportunities for the ITDS organization.
- • Craft compelling and insightful presentations and reports that effectively communicate complex financial findings to a diverse range of stakeholders. Your ability to translate intricate data into easily digestible and actionable information will be highly valued.
- • Foster strong collaborative relationships with business partners across ITDS to gain a deep understanding of operational drivers. You will then translate these operational dynamics into tangible financial impacts, providing a holistic view of performance.
- • Develop and present data-driven recommendations aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, optimizing resource allocation, and maximizing Return on Investment (ROI) across various ITDS initiatives.
- • Conduct detailed analyses of product profitability, identifying key drivers of success and areas ripe for improvement or strategic adjustment.
- • **Financial Support & Process Improvement:**
- • Serve as a key financial partner to the ITDS team, offering dedicated support for budget management, proactive cost control initiatives, and addressing ad-hoc financial inquiries with expertise and efficiency.
- • Actively contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of process improvements within the FP&A function. Your insights will help streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and elevate the overall quality of our financial planning and analysis.
- • Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of critical financial tools and systems, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility.
- • Support the preparation of detailed investment analyses and ROI calculations for new projects and initiatives, providing the financial groundwork for strategic investment decisions.
- • **Cross-Functional Collaboration:**
- • Engage proactively with key stakeholders across IT, Operations, Commercial, Accounting, and HR departments. Your role will involve gathering essential financial data, conducting collaborative analyses, and ensuring financial strategies are aligned across all relevant business units.
- • Participate actively in cross-functional meetings, confidently presenting financial information and insights to both finance-savvy and non-financial audiences, fostering a shared understanding of financial performance and strategic objectives.
