We are a mission-driven company dedicated to accelerating the global adoption of crypto, empowering individuals with financial freedom and inclusion. As a fully remote organization with a global presence, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and crypto conviction. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a leading crypto platform that has been at the forefront of the industry for over a decade, developing premium products for traders, institutions, and newcomers alike.
- • In this critical role, you will report directly to the Sr. Director, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting. Your primary responsibilities will encompass supporting the meticulous financial close process, crafting comprehensive internal reporting documents for management, and ensuring the accurate fulfillment of all external financial reporting obligations. This position demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can navigate the complexities of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- • You will be instrumental in the preparation and compliance of crucial SEC filings, including Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Form 8-K, private placements, and Form S-1. This involves not only the accurate compilation of financial data but also the meticulous preparation and review of supporting work papers for all disclosures, ensuring the integrity of footnotes and the Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) sections.
- • Collaboration is key to success at Kraken. You will work closely with various internal business teams, including Legal, Treasury, and Accounting, to gather information, resolve queries, and ensure seamless reporting processes. Furthermore, you will be a central point of contact for coordinating requests from both the Company's internal and external auditors, facilitating a smooth and efficient audit experience.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves reviewing external reporting documents in XBRL format, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will also take the lead in driving process and reporting improvements within Workiva, our chosen financial reporting system, leveraging its capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- • Beyond SEC filings, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing peer disclosures to benchmark our reporting against industry best practices. Additionally, you will prepare quarterly and annual regulatory and statutory compliance reporting as needed, ensuring Kraken meets all its reporting obligations across various jurisdictions.
- • A core component of your role will be to develop and maintain robust SOX compliance over financial reporting and disclosures. This requires a deep understanding of internal controls and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity. You will proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring that our financial reporting processes are both compliant and efficient.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to grow within a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry. You will have the chance to deepen your expertise in technical accounting, SEC regulations, and financial reporting systems, while contributing to the success of a company that is truly building the future of crypto. We encourage a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements, ensuring that our financial reporting function remains best-in-class.
- • As a remote team member, you will benefit from the flexibility and autonomy that comes with working from anywhere in the world. You will be part of a global team of passionate and talented individuals who are united by a shared vision and a commitment to excellence. Kraken values its employees and provides a supportive environment where you can thrive and make a significant impact. Your contributions will be directly linked to Kraken's continued growth and success in the global crypto market.
- • We are looking for a self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Your strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills will be essential in navigating the complexities of this role and collaborating effectively with diverse teams. This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of a revolution and to help build a more inclusive and equitable financial future for everyone.
