- • Operate and monitor Mainspring Energy’s fleet of Linear Generators (LGens) in real-time to ensure optimal performance and reliability across field deployments.
- • Debug operational issues across integrated systems spanning thermodynamics, mechanical, electrical, software, and controls domains to minimize downtime and maintain service levels.
- • Lead incident resolution workflows by coordinating with cross-functional engineering, field service, and customer success teams to diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions.
- • Analyze large-scale operational data from deployed LGens to identify performance trends, failure patterns, and efficiency opportunities for product improvement.
- • Develop and maintain data pipelines and analytical models to transform raw sensor and telemetry data into actionable insights for engineering and operations teams.
- • Create and deliver regular fleet performance reports to internal stakeholders and key partners including AEP, NextEra Energy Resources, and Schneider Electric.
- • Collaborate with product and design teams to translate operational feedback into requirements for future hardware and software iterations.
- • Contribute to the design and implementation of automated monitoring systems that proactively detect anomalies and trigger alerts before system failures occur.
- • Support the scaling of fleet operations as Mainspring expands from hundreds of megawatts in development to broader commercial deployment across utilities and data centers.
- • Document operational procedures, diagnostic protocols, and analytical methodologies to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency across the growing team.
- • Work closely with field technicians and customer sites to validate data accuracy, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and improve remote monitoring capabilities.
- • Participate in on-call rotations to respond to critical fleet incidents outside standard business hours, ensuring rapid response and resolution.
- • Apply pragmatic optimism and proactive collaboration to solve complex, multi-disciplinary problems in a fast-paced, rapidly-scaling environment.
- • Maintain a strong focus on excellence without ego by prioritizing system reliability, data integrity, and team-driven solutions over individual recognition.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field
- • Proven experience with operational monitoring and analytics of industrial or energy systems
- • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, SQL, MATLAB) and experience building data pipelines
- • Strong understanding of sensor data, telemetry systems, and time-series analysis
- • Experience debugging complex, multi-disciplinary systems (mechanical, electrical, software)
- • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, field operations, and customer teams
