Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the technical success of complex enterprise AI deployments across one large customer engagement or a portfolio of smaller accounts, spanning multiple use cases, production systems, and teams
- • Set technical direction across engagements to ensure coherence in architecture, system behavior, evaluation strategy, integrations, and operational practices as deployments scale
- • Develop Forward Deployed AI Engineer Leads, senior individual contributors, and emerging technical leaders by coaching on technical judgment, code quality, customer communication, and production ownership
- • Serve as the senior technical partner to customer executives, enterprise architects, and business partners, building trust through clear communication, sound judgment, and reliable delivery of AI systems
- • Maintain technical proximity to live systems by reviewing designs, interrogating system behavior, debugging critical production issues, guiding evaluation strategies, and participating in incident reviews and quality improvements
- • Apply AI-native engineering practices daily to enhance personal leverage and model effective use of AI tools for design, implementation, debugging, analysis, experimentation, and operational improvement
- • Partner with company leadership on staffing, organizational design, leadership development, and customer expansion as engagements grow from pilot to enterprise-scale deployment
- • Operate across altitudes: engaging with customer executives on tradeoffs and delivery risk, setting cross-team architecture, developing technical leaders, and remaining technically hands-on to make sound judgments on AI system behavior, code quality, and production reliability
- • Ensure production AI systems deliver durable business value in complex customer environments by balancing architecture, delivery risk, team capability, customer constraints, and operational realities
- • Use AI tools routinely to write and debug code, explore system designs, analyze data, automate repetitive tasks, and improve efficiency in leadership and engineering workflows
- • Travel to customer sites 20–40% of the time based on project needs, customer requirements, and engagement scope
- • Work in a hybrid model requiring 3+ days per week (Tuesday–Thursday) in-office at the San Francisco location
- • Own high-impact AI projects deployed within top enterprises in telecom, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, consumer goods, and global social organizations
- • Collaborate with teams to maintain a 100% production deployment success rate across enterprise clients
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leading technical teams through ambiguous, high-stakes production delivery
- • Proven multi-team technical leadership across multiple workstreams, accounts, or senior engineers, with ability to create clarity, set standards, and develop leaders without becoming a bottleneck
- • Demonstrated talent development experience coaching Tech Leads, senior ICs, and emerging leaders; prior people management experience strongly preferred
- • Enterprise technical ownership: responsibility for whether complex AI deployments deliver durable customer value across architecture, delivery risk, team capability, and production operations
- • Technical proximity and judgment: deep understanding of architecture, debugging, testing, observability, performance, maintainability, security, and code quality; willingness to perform selective high-leverage technical work
- • AI-native working style: daily use of AI tools for coding, debugging, design exploration, data analysis, automation, and operational improvement
🏖️ Benefits
- • Base salary range of $180K – $250K, depending on experience, location, and level, plus meaningful equity
- • 100% covered medical, dental, and vision for employees and dependents
- • 401(k) with additional perks including commuter benefits and in-office lunch
- • Access to state-of-the-art AI models and generous usage of modern AI tools
- • Ownership of high-impact projects across top enterprise customers
- • Mission-driven, fast-moving culture that prizes curiosity, pragmatism, and excellence
