- • As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Distyl Inc., you will build and operate AI systems that deliver real business value inside customer environments, directly impacting mission-critical operations for Fortune 500 companies in telecom, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, and more.
- • Day to day, you will own the behavior and performance of deployed AI systems, design and implement compound AI workflows combining models, agents, retrieval, and evaluation, operate on live systems to measure and improve reliability, integrate AI into customer data platforms and APIs, and work directly with stakeholders to translate requirements into production-ready solutions.
- • Distyl is an applied AI technology company backed by Lightspeed, Khosla Ventures, Coatue, and DST Global, partnering with global enterprises to rearchitect critical operations using AI-native systems, with a 100% production deployment success rate and a profitable business model.
- • In this role, you will learn to build end-to-end AI systems that work in real-world constraints, deepen your expertise in LLM-powered applications and AI tooling, gain ownership of high-impact projects, and grow as a pragmatic engineer who bridges research and production in complex enterprise environments.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of software engineering experience
- • Experience building AI systems powered by LLMs or other AI models, including composing prompts, agents, tools, retrieval, and evaluators into end-to-end workflows
- • Strong engineering fundamentals in Python, including writing clean, maintainable code and understanding versioning, debugging, testing, and performance
- • Comfort working directly with customer teams in high-visibility settings, asking good questions, adapting to new domains, and communicating system behavior and tradeoffs clearly
- • Ability to travel 25-50% for customer engagements
