- • Forward Deployed Engineering Intern, AI-Native (Hybrid) at Homebase Labs Inc. in Houston, Texas – a 3-month summer internship (June–August 2026) focused on embedding with the People Team to design and ship AI-powered automations that improve internal HR and talent workflows.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include mapping real workflows with Talent Acquisition and HR teams, identifying AI automation opportunities, designing and prototyping LLM-powered solutions, building full-stack applications using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React, iterating based on user feedback, measuring impact on metrics like ticket deflection and operational efficiency, and creating reusable playbooks and documentation.
- • The role is embedded within Homebase’s People Team (Talent, HR, and beyond), offering direct collaboration with non-technical stakeholders to transform how the company adopts AI across internal operations, all while contributing to a mission-driven culture focused on helping small businesses thrive.
- • Interns will gain hands-on experience in AI-first engineering, product-minded problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and internal tooling development — learning how to apply LLMs to real business problems, ship production-ready features, and measure impact in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
🎯 Requirements
- • Currently enrolled in a college or university program and available for a summer internship (June–August 2026)
- • Experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or React through coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions
- • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, learning new systems quickly, and working directly with non-technical stakeholders
