• • The Foundations team at Rox is responsible for architecting and implementing the core infrastructure that underpins the company's AI agents. This critical team focuses on systems that manage real-time context ingestion, ensuring agents have access to the most current information. They also develop and maintain agent execution and orchestration capabilities, guiding the complex workflows of AI agents. A key area of focus is ensuring the reliability of these agents, particularly for long-horizon AI tasks that require sustained performance. Furthermore, the team works on optimizing low-latency decisioning across distributed systems, enabling agents to make rapid, informed choices. If you have experience with systems such as streaming compute platforms, distributed query engines, real-time OLAP systems, matching engines, or large-scale data infrastructure, the challenges faced by the Foundations team will likely resonate with your expertise, albeit applied to a novel category of software.

The Foundations team is tasked with building and maintaining the underlying infrastructure that ensures these operational loops are not only reliable and fast but also highly observable, allowing for effective monitoring and management. This role is pivotal in enabling the continuous, autonomous operation of AI agents within enterprise environments.
• • The Foundations Engineer (Deep Infra) role is specifically designed to attract individuals who thrive at the intersection of distributed systems, real-time data infrastructure, agent orchestration, and decisioning systems. You will be instrumental in designing and operating the sophisticated systems that form the backbone of Rox’s agent runtime. The infrastructure you will work on shares similarities with components found in large-scale data platforms, but with a crucial difference: it is meticulously optimized for continuous AI decision loops rather than traditional batch analytics. Many of the systems we are building will echo elements from streaming compute systems, distributed query engines, large-scale event processing pipelines, and matching and routing infrastructure. However, the unique constraint here is the requirement for AI agents to operate continuously and reliably within demanding production environments, pushing the boundaries of existing architectural paradigms.
• • In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and implementation of core distributed systems that power Rox's AI agents. This includes building robust infrastructure for real-time context ingestion and retrieval, ensuring agents can access and process information instantaneously. You will develop sophisticated systems designed to enable low-latency agent decisioning at scale, a critical factor for effective AI operation. A significant part of your work will involve enhancing the reliability, observability, and fault tolerance of the entire agent infrastructure, making it resilient to failures and easy to monitor. You will also build advanced execution frameworks capable of supporting complex, long-running agent workflows, ensuring seamless operation over extended periods. Furthermore, you will engage in close collaboration with product engineers and forward-deployed engineers to effectively translate the capabilities of the underlying infrastructure into tangible customer impact, ensuring that the technology directly addresses user needs and business challenges. A key aspect of this role is the ability to ship production systems rapidly and then iterate on them based on invaluable real-world usage data, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptation.
