• • As the inaugural Founding AI Systems Engineer at Elastic, Inc., you will spearhead the transformative integration of Artificial Intelligence into the core of our internal systems. This is a unique, greenfield opportunity to redefine how a rapidly growing B2B SaaS company operates in the AI era, offering unparalleled visibility, significant ownership, and a direct reporting line to the founders.
• • You will be instrumental in rebuilding and refining the data pipelines, Go-To-Market (GTM) tooling, and essential business logic that currently powers our $50 million company. This role is pivotal in shaping the future operational efficiency and strategic capabilities of Elastic.
• • This position demands a proactive builder who thrives on identifying inefficiencies and architecting innovative solutions. You will be expected to engage directly with stakeholders across various departments, understand their challenges, and translate those needs into tangible, AI-driven improvements.
• • Your technical expertise will span the full stack, with a strong emphasis on Python for backend development and TypeScript or JavaScript for frontend applications. A deep understanding of AI tools and their practical applications is crucial, enabling you to leverage AI to significantly enhance productivity and outcomes.
• • You will be comfortable adopting and mastering new infrastructure and data tools as required by the problem at hand, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.
• • A strong grasp of business operations, particularly within GTM functions, is essential. This includes understanding the nuances of lead scoring, the importance of effective sales attribution, and the underlying business problems that technical solutions aim to solve.
• • Building trust and fostering strong relationships across the organization – including Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Leadership – will be key. A low-ego approach combined with genuine curiosity will facilitate effective collaboration and drive progress.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to conceptualize and build AI-powered internal tools from the ground up. This includes developing sophisticated lead scoring models, creating intelligent Slack bots capable of answering complex business questions using live data, and designing autonomous agents that can generate business reviews and surface critical insights without manual human analysis.
• • You will drive the implementation of automation that demonstrably improves workflows, specifically targeting and resolving bottlenecks within Sales and Marketing operations to significantly reduce process times.
• • A significant part of your role will involve working intimately with our existing GTM stack, including Segment, Customer.io, Close, and our data warehouse. You will ensure data connections are robust, clean, and meticulously documented as you build upon this foundation.
• • You will architect and implement infrastructure for experimentation and growth, empowering teams to conduct tests, accurately measure impact, and scale acquisition efforts without encountering engineering-related impediments.
• • A critical aspect of this role is defining the AI Systems Engineering function within Elastic. You will establish the strategic direction, identify areas of highest engineering leverage, and develop a comprehensive roadmap that aligns with the company's growth objectives.
• • This is a fully remote position, requiring you to be based in the United States, with flexibility across Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones.
