📋 Description

• As the Founding Applied AI Lead at Paxos Health, you will design and own the AI agents and workflows that enable patients to access prescribed medical technologies by turning complex reimbursement processes into reliable AI-driven prior authorizations and appeals.
• You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, AI, and customer implementation, translating messy clinical records, payer rules, and documentation into structured AI systems using prompt chains, agent patterns, structured-output schemas, evals, and workflow specifications.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and improving AI workflows, turning reimbursement complexity into testable logic, owning AI quality through failure analysis and evals, collaborating directly with customers during implementation, and documenting system behavior for team scalability.
• Paxos Health is a fast-growing, mission-driven startup backed by >$5M in venture funding, working with medtech and lab diagnostics companies to solve systemic gaps in healthcare access through LLMs and AI automation.
• In this role, you will gain deep expertise in applied AI for healthcare operations, build ownership over critical product infrastructure, and have significant opportunity to grow your scope as the company scales — all while working in a high-ownership, feedback-driven culture that values learning and real-world impact.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of work experience in technical implementation, AI operations, software technical writing, software engineering, technical customer service, or related fields
• AI-obsessed mindset with active experimentation in LLMs and belief in AI’s potential to transform real-world operations
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Extreme attention to detail with ability to identify edge cases, inconsistencies, and quality issues
• Comfortable engaging directly with enterprise customers during implementation and discovery
• High ownership mindset suited for fast-moving startup environments where processes are evolving

• Competitive base salary range of $110,000–$175,000 USD, calibrated to experience and level
