  • • Serve as the first dedicated outbound Business Development Representative (BDR) for an early-stage AI SaaS startup serving the consumer packaged goods (CPG) and packaging supply chain industry.
  • • Execute high-volume outbound sales campaigns via phone, email, and LinkedIn to target decision-makers at CPG brands, packaging suppliers, and adjacent manufacturers.
  • • Book a minimum of two qualified discovery meetings per week after a two-week onboarding ramp, directly for the founder to lead discovery and closing.
  • • Own and maintain the CRM (HubSpot) with precision: log every interaction, update pipeline stages, manage sequence cadences, and ensure data integrity.
  • • Research and identify the correct buyer personas within target accounts—including Creative Director, Packaging Engineer, Formulator, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Account Executive—based on company structure and needs.
  • • Collaborate weekly with the founder to iterate on messaging, refine outreach hooks, and adapt to buyer objections, feedback, and emerging market signals.
  • • Work with pre-built target lists or independently source prospects when given a blank ideal customer profile (ICP), demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness.
  • • Translate buyer insights into product feedback: report what features buyers request, what objections arise, and what value propositions resonate most.
  • • Operate within US business hours that overlap with East Coast time zones (9am–5pm ET / 6am–2pm PT) to ensure real-time alignment with the founder and target buyers.
  • • Maintain a persistent, direct, and honest communication style—reframing “not a priority” responses and following up without relying on automation alone.
  • • Treat the sales pipeline as your own responsibility, tracking progress, identifying bottlenecks, and proactively solving problems without waiting for direction.
  • • Embrace direct feedback from the founder without defensiveness, using it to improve call quality, messaging, and conversion rates.
  • • Build the foundational outbound playbook from scratch, including sequences, templates, and targeting strategies that will scale as the company grows.
  • • Gain direct exposure to the full sales motion: observe how the founder conducts discovery calls, handles objections, and closes deals—learning the complete revenue cycle.
  • • Contribute to product development by bringing real customer voice and market demand back to the technical co-founder, ensuring product roadmap reflects actual buyer needs.
  • • Operate as a contractor via Deel with clean, compliant monthly payments and no administrative overhead.
  • • Position yourself for a transition from BDR to Account Executive after the company’s upcoming institutional funding round, with equity compensation available for high performers who stay through the round.
  • • Work remotely from any location with reliable US East Coast time zone overlap, while maintaining full alignment with the San Francisco-based founding team.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 1–3+ years of B2B SaaS outbound sales experience as an SDR, BDR, or Founding BDR
  • • Demonstrated track record of cold-outbound success with measurable metrics (dials/day, meetings/week, conversion rates)
  • • Excellent spoken English and confidence conducting cold calls with US business buyers in East Coast and Central time zones
  • • Experience selling into non-tech industries such as manufacturing, packaging, supply chain, construction, or CPG
  • • Fluency in modern outbound tools: HubSpot (or Salesforce), Apollo/ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Nav, and a sequencer (Outreach/Salesloft/Lemlist)
  • • Willingness and ability to work US business hours overlapping with East Coast time (9am–5pm ET)
