Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end product design function for Handshake AI Enterprise, building the product layer for AI applications integrated into the workflows of Fortune 500 companies and frontier AI labs.
- • Collaborate directly with product, engineering, data, research, sales, and operations teams to define and execute the product vision, from early research through high-fidelity design and prototyping.
- • Engage directly with enterprise customers and operators by running pilots, shadowing workflows, uncovering pain points, and translating insights into clear, actionable design solutions.
- • Develop strategic product visions, sequence them into pragmatic phases, and solve complex, ambiguous problems with a strong, craft-driven point of view.
- • Operate entrepreneurially by making decisions with incomplete information, moving quickly, and creatively unblocking team progress without relying on established processes.
- • Establish and elevate design culture through systems thinking, product reasoning, pixel-level precision, and facilitation of cross-functional alignment.
- • Design production-grade features for complex enterprise systems, workflows, and internal platforms that are both technically feasible and delightfully usable.
- • Communicate design decisions with equal clarity to executives, customers, and engineers, translating business goals and technical constraints into intuitive user experiences.
- • Thrive as the sole designer in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment where scope is broad and ownership is full-cycle.
- • Build and iterate on solutions informed by direct customer feedback, ensuring every design decision ties back to measurable user impact and business outcomes.
- • Contribute to shaping how careers evolve in the AI economy by designing tools that empower enterprise users to leverage AI effectively at scale.
- • Partner with world-class AI labs, educational institutions, and enterprise clients to co-create solutions that push the boundaries of what AI-powered workflows can achieve.
- • Maintain a humble, curious, and kind approach to design, with a deep motivation for Handshake’s mission and a commitment to helping others grow.
- • Leverage experience with multi-sided marketplaces, LLM products in production, operator/workflow management systems, or internal tools at high-growth companies to inform design strategy.
- • Convert this contract role into a full-time position based on mutual fit, demonstrating sustained impact and alignment with the founding team’s vision.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–7+ years of product design experience, ideally on enterprise products, operations tooling, or internal platforms
- • Designed and shipped production-grade features customers love across complex systems, workflows, and platforms
- • Worked directly with customers and end users, connecting insights to business goals and technical constraints
- • Can confidently walk a customer or executive through a design decision as easily as an engineer through a spec
- • Thrive as the only designer in the room, operating independently with high ownership and minimal supervision
- • Deeply motivated by Handshake’s mission and possess a humble, kind, and curious mindset
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to convert from contract to full-time based on mutual fit
- • Partner directly with world-class AI labs, Fortune 500 companies, and top educational institutions
- • Work alongside engineers and operators from Palantir, Meta, Scale AI, and former YC founders
- • Contribute to a business growing from $0 to ~$1B run rate with global impact
