Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Drive the end-to-end product strategy for NIRA, India’s growing fintech lender, as the first Product Manager on the team, shaping a new credit product from 0-to-1 on top of India’s rapidly evolving financial infrastructure including Account Aggregator, Credit Line on UPI, and the Unified Lending Interface.
- • Own the entire lending funnel as a product system — from user acquisition to approval and disbursal — identifying high-leverage interventions in UX, policy, pricing, and segmentation, and being directly accountable for improving conversion, approval rates, and disbursal speed.
- • Translate deep, continuous qualitative borrower research with hard quantitative data into foundational product direction and nuanced UX decisions, ensuring the product reflects real user behaviors and needs.
- • Build and refine the Short Term Credit product by defining core hypotheses, segmenting target user bases, identifying critical early use cases, and architecting the end-to-end borrower experience in alignment with evolving credit policy.
- • Own the product roadmap and translate business goals and customer insights into clear initiatives, measurable outcomes, and priorities that directly move company-level OKRs, defending decisions with data-driven rationale.
- • Use AI tools like Claude actively and effectively to accelerate hypothesis testing, spec writing, analysis, prototyping, and discovery — treating AI as a force multiplier for personal output, not a novelty.
- • Operate with high ownership in a small, high-velocity team based in Bengaluru, collaborating with international product and leadership teams while maintaining direct accountability for outcomes.
- • Work cross-functionally with credit, compliance, engineering, and operations stakeholders, translating product thinking into clear, compelling narratives for non-product teams with equal fluency.
- • Prioritize ruthlessly under resource constraints, cutting scope to preserve core product intent rather than requesting additional headcount, and making decisions with 70% information when the cost of delay exceeds the cost of error.
- • Build explicit systems models to understand stocks and flows in the lending process, name assumptions, and identify which assumptions are most likely to break — applying systems thinking to product design and policy.
- • Run your own data queries and build your own models to produce consistently accurate, error-free analysis; let data be the starting point for decisions, not a backup for intuition.
- • Maintain a quantitative default mindset: change your position based on data without requiring permission or second opinions, and act decisively even in ambiguity.
- • Contribute to a culture of excellence and impact, where good ideas travel quickly, contributions are recognized beyond rigid promotion timelines, and mutual respect is non-negotiable.
- • Participate in global team onsites twice yearly, fostering connection and collaboration across 14 countries and 12 time zones.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in fintech or non-bank lending, with a preference for experience over traditional banking
- • Demonstrated ability to own end-to-end product strategy and execution, from 0-to-1 product development through scaling
- • Strong quantitative skills: ability to run independent data queries, build models, and produce accurate, error-free analysis
- • Experience working in resource-constrained environments with high ownership and minimal oversight
- • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, especially with credit, compliance, and engineering teams
- • Comfort and proficiency using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate product work
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive compensation packages with generous equity
- • Virtual-first teamwork with WFH office reimbursement
- • Flexible health plans with substantial global-standard subsidies
- • Direct exposure to leadership team and rapid idea escalation
- • Paid global onsites twice yearly (e.g., Vail, San Diego, Mexico City)
- • Growth opportunities tied to contributions, not rigid promotion timelines
