- • Analyze the economics of a high-volume payments business to understand cost dynamics, gross margin drivers, and unit economics across Zeller’s financial operations.
- • Partner directly with Sales and Marketing teams to provide commercial insights, forecast performance, and support strategic decision-making with data-driven analysis.
- • Build and maintain financial models that support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for a fast-growing scale-up with complex payment transaction flows.
- • Leverage AI and large language models (Claude Code, Gemini, Aleph) as core infrastructure to automate manual financial workflows, reduce repetitive tasks, and increase analytical throughput.
- • Work extensively with a modern data stack including Databricks, Xero, and AI-powered tools to extract, transform, and visualize financial data for actionable insights.
- • Serve as the team’s go-to expert on gross margin optimization by identifying inefficiencies in the payments engine and recommending operational improvements.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial planning with product development, customer acquisition, and revenue growth initiatives.
- • Translate complex financial data into clear, executive-level summaries that inform commercial strategy and resource allocation.
- • Contribute to the design and implementation of AI-powered finance workflows that enable a lean team to operate with the efficiency of a much larger finance function.
- • Continuously challenge traditional FP&A processes by proposing innovative, technology-enabled solutions that eliminate bureaucracy and accelerate financial insights.
- • Support the finance function’s transformation into one of the most AI-leveraged teams in the market by actively experimenting with and refining AI tooling for financial analysis.
- • Monitor key financial KPIs related to payment processing costs, transaction volumes, customer acquisition cost, and lifetime value to drive profitability.
- • Ensure financial reporting accuracy and timeliness while adapting to rapid business growth and evolving product offerings.
- • Act as a commercial partner by providing real-time financial context to non-finance teams to improve pricing, campaign ROI, and customer segmentation strategies.
- • Maintain a deep understanding of Zeller’s payment infrastructure and how transactional costs impact overall financial performance.
- • Proactively identify opportunities to automate reporting, reconciliation, and forecasting tasks using AI tools rather than manual spreadsheets or legacy systems.
- • Contribute to the development of financial dashboards and self-service analytics tools that empower non-finance stakeholders to access key metrics independently.
- • Embrace a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement — rejecting rigid, rule-based finance processes in favor of adaptive, tech-driven solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as an FP&A Analyst or similar financial planning role in a high-growth or tech-enabled business
- • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Xero, or similar ERP/financial systems
- • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI/LLM tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) to automate financial workflows and enhance analytical output
