Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Fraud Investigation Specialist at Almedia Inc., you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of a rapidly growing marketing platform that rewards over 60 million users for engaging with advertisers’ products. This is not a reactive monitoring role — you will be at the forefront of identifying and neutralizing fraud before it impacts the business, directly contributing to Almedia’s mission of becoming Germany’s second bootstrapped unicorn and maintaining its status as Europe’s #3 fastest-growing company in 2025.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include proactively analyzing transactional, behavioral, and system-level data to uncover hidden fraud patterns and emerging threats; conducting end-to-end fraud investigations from detection to resolution and prevention design; performing vulnerability assessments and supporting penetration testing to identify exploitable system weaknesses; using SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets for actionable intelligence; gathering insights from internal and external sources to anticipate evolving fraud tactics; and collaborating closely with Data, Product, Engineering, and Account Management teams to design, implement, and optimize fraud detection systems that strengthen controls and close security gaps.
- • You will join a high-impact, fast-moving team at Almedia, a profitable, bootstrapped startup with ambitious growth goals and a culture that rewards initiative, ownership, and technical excellence. The company fosters a collaborative environment where cross-functional teamwork is essential, and your work will directly influence the resilience and scalability of the platform serving global advertisers and millions of users.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in fraud intelligence, security operations, and data-driven risk mitigation while gaining hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing support, and cross-functional system design. You will have the opportunity to shape Almedia’s fraud prevention framework from the ground up, build a portfolio of impactful investigations, and grow into a trusted security advisor within the organization — all while working in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment that values proactive problem-solving and strategic thinking.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience in Fraud Analysis, Security Operations, Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- • Strong proficiency in SQL and data analysis; ability to work with large datasets and uncover meaningful insights.
- • Experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, or security risk analysis.
- • Demonstrated ability to conduct end-to-end investigations and projects independently.
- • Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for analysis or automation is a strong plus.
- • Intelligence-gathering mindset — ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to identify emerging threats.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Own Our Growth: We offer all Berlin-based employees equity in Almedia to truly be a part of our success.
- • Scale With Almedia: Grow alongside a startup that has been profitable from day one.
