📋 Description

• As a French Language Specialist on this freelance AI trainer project, you will play a critical role in advancing the linguistic capabilities of large language models by providing expert-level feedback on French language performance, directly contributing to the development of more accurate, culturally aware, and educationally valuable AI systems that serve French-speaking communities worldwide.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include engaging in nuanced conversations with AI models across diverse linguistic scenarios, identifying and documenting errors in grammar, syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics, and pragmatics—particularly around verb conjugation, gender/number agreement, idiomatic expressions, and stylistic variation—while proposing actionable improvements to prompt design and evaluation frameworks.
• You will verify factual accuracy and logical coherence of model outputs, reproduce error traces systematically, and maintain detailed records of failure modes to support iterative model refinement, ensuring that the AI learns from precise, metacognitive linguistic analysis.

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in French language, linguistics, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated expertise in French grammar, syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics, and pragmatics, including advanced knowledge of verb conjugation, gender/number agreement, idioms, and stylistic variation
• Experience with linguistic analysis, peer-reviewed publications, teaching, or hands-on projects involving error annotation, linguistic documentation, or model evaluation
• Strong metacognitive communication skills—ability to clearly explain reasoning, document processes, and 'show your work' in linguistic analysis
• Proficiency in working remotely with reliable internet and a secure personal computer
• Familiarity with AI language models, prompt engineering, or evaluation metrics is a nice-to-have
