📋 Description

• As EliseAI's first dedicated Front-End Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping the visual identity and user experience of our core products and marketing website. This pivotal role sits at the crucial intersection of design and engineering, where you will be empowered to establish and evolve our design system, define the platform's visual language, and reimagine key interfaces to foster greater consistency, clarity, and overall usability.
• You will partner closely with our talented design, product, and engineering teams to meticulously develop, maintain, and advance our design system. Your efforts will ensure aesthetic cohesion across all user touchpoints and contribute to a scalable, robust front-end architecture that can support our rapid growth.
• A key aspect of your role will involve collaborating with Product Managers and engineers to align on project requirements, assess technical feasibility, and strategize the sequencing of development efforts. You will play a significant part in shaping how features are conceived, designed, and ultimately brought to life, from the initial concept through to successful launch.
• You will be responsible for documenting established patterns, championing consistency in design and implementation across all product areas, and driving the adoption of shared systems and components throughout the organization. This proactive approach will ensure a unified and high-quality user experience.
• As the inaugural Design Engineer, you will define and own our overarching process and strategic approach to front-end development. You will act as a critical bridge, translating intricate design intent into production-ready code, ensuring that the final implementation perfectly reflects the intended user experience.
• Your responsibilities will include translating complex Figma designs into pixel-perfect, accessible, and highly performant interfaces. A strong emphasis will be placed on maintaining visual consistency and delivering an exceptional user experience that delights our users.
• You will design and implement sophisticated UI interactions and subtle micro-interactions that significantly enhance clarity, provide meaningful feedback, and improve the overall usability of our products. The goal is to create an interface that is not only functional but also intuitive and engaging.
• Bringing high-quality interaction patterns to life will be a core function, including the thoughtful design and implementation of transitions, dynamic states, and responsive behaviors that contribute to a polished, intuitive, and seamless user interface.
• Close collaboration with the broader engineering team will be essential to ensure that all front-end components are shipped with the intended fidelity. This partnership will help minimize visual regressions and reduce the need for post-launch polish, ensuring a smooth and efficient development cycle.
• You will actively refactor existing user interfaces and components to fully implement the design system, thereby improving usability and unifying the visual language across both our product suite and marketing website. This will create a cohesive and branded experience for all users.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience with Javascript, Typescript, and React.
• Proven ability to work with Figma for design handoffs and component creation.
• Strong understanding of interaction patterns, responsive layout systems, accessibility standards (WCAG), and core usability principles.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with frequent code deployments and a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and pragmatism.
• Familiarity with modern front-end development tools and workflows (e.g., Vercel, Cursor, etc.).
