- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include implementing performant, SEO-friendly static rendering strategies using Astro’s hybrid model, continuously improving Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse scores through caching and optimization techniques, supporting self-hosted WordPress resources for reliability and security, coordinating updates between WordPress and the static site infrastructure, documenting developer and content-editor workflows, introducing automated frontend testing and CI/CD improvements, and staying current with frontend best practices, accessibility standards, and emerging frameworks.
- • Hubstaff is a fully remote, product-led company with over a decade of remote-first experience, serving more than 95,000 businesses globally with a culture rooted in trust, autonomy, and long-term innovation; you’ll join an engineering team focused on craftsmanship, scalability, and sustainable code health, where multi-year tenure and deep technical ownership are valued.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern frontend architectures, headless CMS integrations, and performance engineering while contributing to a platform that is becoming essential to remote companies’ tech stacks, with opportunities to grow technically and professionally through long-term investment in meaningful, scalable solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional frontend development experience, with at least 2+ years working with Vue.js or similar component-based frameworks (React, Svelte).
- • Proven experience with static site generators (Astro, Nuxt, Next, etc.) and self-hosted headless CMS integrations (Payload CMS or similar).
- • Expert-level understanding of HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- • Strong understanding of performance optimization, responsive design, and accessibility.
- • Deep experience with Git-based workflows and collaborative development.
- • Solid understanding of component-driven design and maintainable architecture.

- • Opportunities to work on technically challenging problems at scale, impacting a platform used by over 95,000 businesses worldwide.
- • Long-term product focus — build something you can truly invest in over time, with emphasis on craftsmanship, code health, and sustainable innovation.
- • Competitive pay for top talent, reflecting Hubstaff’s commitment to rewarding skilled engineers in a fully remote, high-trust environment.
