📋 Description

• As a Senior Front End Engineer on the Chat/Portal team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how businesses interact with their customers through Front’s customer support tooling, directly impacting the scalability and effectiveness of customer-facing operations for over 9,000 global companies including industry leaders like Uber Freight, Navan, and Stripe.
• You will contribute to a mission-driven engineering culture at a company recognized as a Great Place to Work, backed by top-tier investors such as Sequoia Capital and Salesforce Ventures, where your work enables seamless coordination and context in complex B2B customer relationships.
• You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to conceptualize, design, implement, test, and launch new features and integrations for Front’s chat, chatbots, portal, and self-serve support systems, ensuring they meet high standards of usability, performance, and reliability.
• You will take ownership of end-to-end feature delivery, from scoping and technical risk assessment to coordinating cross-team dependencies, mentoring junior engineers, and upholding technical excellence in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
• You will develop primarily in a modern JavaScript stack, leveraging TypeScript, React, and Node.js to build real-time, responsive web applications that power Front’s chat and portal experiences, with a focus on clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• You will contribute to architectural decisions and improvements in a large-scale, high-traffic web application, applying pragmatism and sound engineering judgment to balance innovation with system stability and performance.
• You will engage in a product- and business-minded engineering approach, translating user needs and business goals into technical solutions that enhance customer self-serve capabilities and drive measurable outcomes.
• You will thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and high-growth environment, embracing continuous learning and adapting quickly to evolving technologies and product priorities while maintaining a strong bar for quality and impact.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience delivering product-focused features, enhancements, and new products from concept to launch in a software engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and hands-on experience building fast, reliable, real-time web applications using modern frameworks such as React.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in small, dynamic, cross-functional teams, with a product- and business-oriented mindset and a track record of thriving in high-growth, collaborative environments.
