đź“‹ Description
- • We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic AI team at Vanilla, a groundbreaking startup revolutionizing estate planning with an AI-powered advisory platform. This is a unique opportunity to not just build features, but to architect and elevate the frontend experience for our innovative AI-driven products. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform, ensuring a seamless, intelligent, and visually engaging user journey for estate planning.
- • As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be instrumental in defining and upholding the highest standards of frontend architecture and quality specifically for all AI-powered features. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the AI frontend implementation is not only robust but also perfectly aligned with the broader application's best practices. This includes meticulous attention to shared components, consistent service API patterns, and the effective utilization of our design system.
- • This role demands a high degree of ownership and cross-team leadership. You will be a key collaborator, partnering closely with organization frontend leaders to absorb, internalize, and disseminate best practices across all engineering teams. Your insights and experience will help propagate frontend excellence throughout the company, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality development.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will involve contributing to and actively evolving our shared design system and atomic component architecture. You will be a champion for consistency, driving uniformity across all shared components, service APIs, and UI patterns. This ensures a cohesive and predictable user experience, regardless of which part of the platform a user interacts with.
- • You will lead large, complex frontend initiatives from conception to completion. This involves translating ambiguous ideas, often originating from product and design, into scalable, high-quality UI systems that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Your ability to navigate complexity and deliver robust solutions will be paramount.
- • Beyond technical execution, you will provide strong technical direction and mentorship to other frontend contributors. You will guide and inspire junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and adhere to best practices, thereby raising the overall technical bar of the frontend team.
- • Establishing comprehensive frontend observability and tracking standards is another key aspect of this role. This includes defining and implementing analytics and instrumentation strategies to monitor performance, user behavior, and system health, providing critical data for decision-making.
- • You will be responsible for ensuring that performance, accessibility, and maintainability are prioritized across the entire UI surface area. This means building not just for today, but for the long term, creating a sustainable and inclusive user experience.
- • Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work closely with backend and ML engineers to seamlessly integrate AI-powered experiences into our production-grade frontend. This cross-functional synergy is essential for delivering cutting-edge, AI-driven features.
- • This is a remote position, requiring you to be based in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, or Washington. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of frontend engineering experience with deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
- • Strong understanding of atomic design principles and scalable component architecture, with proven experience contributing to or leading a design system.
- • Experience maintaining frontend quality across multiple teams or product surfaces, and a strong collaboration history with product designers using Figma and wireframes.
- • Proven ability to communicate blockers and concerns early with clear reasoning, advocate for quality and architectural direction with data, and mentor engineers.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Flexible paid time off policy and 10 company-wide paid holidays.
- • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits coverage for employees and their families.
- • 401K eligibility after one month of employment.
