- • As a Frontend Engineer at Wordly, you will build and improve user experiences that help customers effectively use Wordly’s real-time translation features across our applications, directly enabling global communication in over 50 languages for businesses, governments, and organizations worldwide.
- • You will work independently from clear product requirements and UI designs to implement new features, enhance existing frontend applications, and develop reusable UI components that ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across Wordly’s platform, contributing to the scalability and maintainability of the codebase.
- • You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, UI Design, and Backend Engineering teams to translate designs into functional frontend code, integrate with backend APIs, and participate in code reviews to uphold engineering standards and deliver reliable, user-centric solutions.
- • You will write and maintain unit tests using modern testing frameworks, debug and resolve frontend issues, and leverage AI-assisted development tools responsibly to increase productivity while maintaining code quality and adherence to best practices.
- • You will contribute to a fully remote engineering team culture, with the option to work from Wordly’s office in Los Altos, California if located in the San Francisco Bay Area, fostering flexibility and inclusion while supporting the company’s mission to break down language barriers globally.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern frontend technologies like React or Angular, TypeScript, and testing practices, while gaining experience in AI-augmented development workflows and design systems, positioning you for growth into senior technical or architectural roles within a fast-growing, mission-driven startup.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of hands-on experience building frontend applications from product requirements
- • Strong understanding of React or Angular frameworks, including related patterns (e.g., RxJS for Angular), with experience in both being a plus
- • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
- • Experience writing and maintaining frontend tests using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Jasmine, or similar
- • Experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs
- • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) effectively and responsibly
- • Comfortable working in modern software development workflows, including version control and code review practices
- • Self-motivated and able to implement features independently from clear requirements
