📋 Description

• As a Frontend Engineer at Self Financial, you will build and maintain mobile and web experiences that help people build credit and savings, integrating with backend services and third-party platforms to deliver reliable, accessible financial products.
• Day to day, you will develop, create, and modify customer-facing interfaces across Android, iOS, and Web, implement testing and performance improvements, collaborate with design and product to iterate on features, and help evolve frontend architecture and delivery practices.
• Self Financial is a venture-backed FinTech focused on increasing economic inclusion and financial resilience by providing accessible credit-building and savings tools to underserved communities.
• In this role, you can deepen your expertise in modern frontend technologies, mobile/web cross-platform development, accessibility and performance, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to products that serve 100M+ Americans with no or low credit.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of software engineering experience building frontend web and/or mobile applications
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React (React Native experience a plus)
• Proficiency with HTML/CSS and modern web frameworks (Next.js is a plus)
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus
• Experience with testing, performance profiling, and accessibility best practices
• Familiarity with engineering tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence (or similar)
• Comfortable collaborating across the stack; experience debugging backend services (Python or similar is a plus)
• Strong communication, product instincts, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
