Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Rocket Lawyer’s mission to democratize legal services for everyone. As a Frontend Software Engineer (Contractor) you will sit at the intersection of design, law, and technology, helping more than 30 million users create over 50 million legal documents with confidence and ease.
- • Work fully remote from Brazil while collaborating with a globally distributed, cross-functional squad that includes a product manager, UX designer, 4-6 software engineers, and QA analysts. You will be embedded in an agile environment that runs disciplined two-week sprints and ships value to customers every single day.
- • Own the complete lifecycle of new features—from early UI sketches and technical design to polished, performant code in production. You will participate in story grooming, provide accurate technical scope for epics, and defend architectural decisions in daily stand-ups and code reviews.
- • Write clean, reusable, and test-driven TypeScript/JavaScript code in modern frameworks such as Angular and React. You will leverage HTML5, CSS3, LESS/SASS, and responsive design principles to ensure pixel-perfect experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- • Champion accessibility and performance. You will profile bundle sizes, optimize critical rendering paths, and implement lazy-loading strategies so that every user—regardless of device or bandwidth—receives a fast, inclusive experience.
- • Collaborate with designers to translate Figma prototypes into living components, advocating for design-system consistency and reusable UI patterns. You will also partner with backend engineers to define GraphQL queries and RESTful endpoints that power seamless data flows.
- • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests (Jest, Cypress, or similar) that prove acceptance criteria are met and guard against regressions. You will maintain >80 % test coverage and treat failing tests as blocked deployments.
- • Contribute to continuous deployment pipelines in GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools. You will monitor production metrics via Datadog, roll back risky releases, and participate in blameless post-mortems that turn incidents into shared learning.
- • Mentor junior developers through pair programming and thoughtful code reviews. You will foster a culture of psychological safety where experimentation is encouraged and “I don’t know” is the start of a conversation, not the end.
- • Celebrate wins—big and small. From virtual coffee chats to demo days, you will be part of a team that values transparency, humor, and the collective joy of shipping software that tangibly improves people’s lives.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of professional frontend development with deep expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks—Angular, React, and TypeScript
- • Proven track record building responsive, accessible web applications with HTML5, CSS3, and CSS preprocessors (LESS/SASS)
- • Demonstrated ability to write unit and integration tests (Jest, Cypress, or equivalent) and maintain high test coverage
- • Experience working in agile teams, participating in story grooming, sprint planning, and iterative delivery
- • Nice-to-have: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, performance optimization techniques, and design-system development
🏖️ Benefits
- • 6-month contract with strong potential for contract-to-hire conversion
- • Fully remote work from anywhere in Brazil with flexible hours
- • Collaborative, inclusive culture that celebrates diversity and continuous learning
- • Opportunity to impact a product used by 30+ million people worldwide
