• As the Frontend Tech Lead for our Design System, you will be at the forefront of this mission. You will own the technical direction, architecture, and long-term vision for our Design System, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and a joy for our engineers to use. You will collaborate closely with Product Designers, Content Designers, and Frontend Engineers within the dedicated Design System team, as well as with product teams across the organization. Your role is pivotal in ensuring consistency, efficiency, and a high standard of quality across all Manychat products.
• Your responsibilities will span strategy, architecture, adoption, and engineering excellence. You will be instrumental in defining the Design System's roadmap, establishing clear engineering principles, and implementing a governance model that ensures its sustainable evolution. A key aspect of your role will be designing and executing migration and integration strategies, including versioning, backward compatibility, and deprecation plans, to facilitate seamless adoption and updates for our product teams.
• Furthermore, you will champion the Design System's adoption across the company. This involves establishing and refining an adoption framework, defining key success metrics, analyzing usage data to identify friction points, and proactively driving improvements. You will act as the technical authority, guiding frontend and Design System standards throughout the organization, ensuring consistency, scalability, and interoperability of our user interfaces.
• Driving engineering excellence is at the core of this role. You will mentor and guide engineers, lead technical discussions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality output. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining exceptional standards for accessibility (a11y), performance, reliability, and overall developer experience. You will also be responsible for building and evolving automation pipelines, encompassing package builds, documentation platforms, CI/CD processes, token generation, and sophisticated design-to-code workflows, streamlining the development process for all teams.
• This role requires a strategic thinker who understands the intricate relationship between design and engineering. You should be comfortable influencing without direct authority, leveraging data and user feedback to continuously enhance the Design System. • Your future teammates are a vibrant, cross-functional group of 8 individuals: 2 Product Designers, 2 Frontend Engineers, 2 Content Designers, a Frontend Area Lead, and a Product Design Manager. Together, this team is dedicated to the holistic evolution of the Design System, encompassing everything from reusable components and design tokens to comprehensive documentation, content standards, and an exceptional developer experience. You will be an integral part of this collaborative environment, working together to ensure the Design System serves as a powerful, shared platform for the entire organization.

You will play a critical role in scaling our frontend development efforts and ensuring that Manychat continues to deliver intuitive and engaging experiences to our global user base. 🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building modern frontend applications with TypeScript and React, and proven experience leading or scaling a Design System in a product-driven environment.
• Strong experience architecting scalable component libraries with clear API design principles and long-term maintainability in mind.
• Deep knowledge of CSS architecture, design tokens, theming, and styling strategies.
• Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and experience building accessible components.
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend tooling (Vite/Webpack/Rspack), package management, and monorepo setups.
• Experience setting up CI/CD for libraries, semantic versioning, changelog automation, and release processes.
• Experience in profiling and optimizing component performance and render behavior.
• Experience building and maintaining design token pipelines (e.g., Style Dictionary, Token Studio, Figma Tokens) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Figma API, automated documentation sync, and design-to-code tooling is a plus.
• Background in design foundations (typography, branding systems) is a plus.
• Understanding of localization, i18n, and RTL challenges is a plus.
