- • Own the end-to-end development of email builder features within HighLevel’s AI-powered business operating system, from initial concept and prototyping to deployment, scaling, and iterative improvement.
- • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and responsive frontend interfaces for email automation tools used by over 1 million businesses globally.
- • Leverage HighLevel’s existing infrastructure of 250+ microservices and 250 terabytes of distributed data to develop high-performance email generation and delivery systems handling billions of daily message events.
- • Integrate AI-driven capabilities into the email builder to enable smart content suggestions, dynamic personalization, and automated A/B testing without requiring manual intervention.
- • Collaborate directly with product stakeholders and customer feedback loops to identify pain points and translate them into actionable engineering initiatives—no product managers or designers will mediate your work.
- • Build and optimize APIs that connect the email builder to HighLevel’s broader ecosystem, including CRM, automation workflows, analytics, and messaging platforms.
- • Ensure system reliability and performance under load, supporting over 4 billion daily API hits and 1.5 billion monthly messages processed through the platform.
- • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively detect and resolve issues in real-time across distributed services.
- • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and Node.js-based services aligned with HighLevel’s engineering standards.
- • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical debt reduction initiatives as part of a global, remote-first engineering team.
- • Rapidly prototype new features using AI tooling and internal platforms to validate ideas before full-scale development, reducing time-to-market from weeks to days.
- • Take full ownership of product outcomes: define success metrics, track user engagement, analyze performance data, and iterate based on real-world usage patterns.
- • Work autonomously with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks based on business impact and customer value rather than assigned tickets.
- • Contribute to documentation, onboarding materials, and knowledge sharing within the Email Builders Team to elevate team-wide engineering excellence.
- • Maintain compliance with data privacy and security standards across all regions where HighLevel operates, including GDPR, CCPA, and other regional regulations.
- • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and tools to improve the efficiency, scalability, and user experience of the email builder product.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience building full-stack web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
- • Demonstrated ability to own and ship end-to-end product features from ideation to production without reliance on separate design or product teams
- • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
- • Experience working with high-scale systems handling millions of daily transactions or message events
- • Proficiency in database design and optimization (SQL and/or NoSQL)
- • Comfort working in a remote-first, globally distributed team with asynchronous communication
