• • Horizon Industries, Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team, contributing to the critical mission of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
• • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the engineering, modernization, and sustainment of the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Integrated Defense Enterprise Acquisition System (IDEAS), a vital platform within the Department of Defense.
• • Your contributions will span the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and development through integration, rigorous testing, and essential Tier 2/3 operational support, all within a secure and highly regulated DoD environment.
• • This position demands a robust understanding and practical application of core technologies including Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL, alongside significant experience in system integration, cloud-based architectures, and modern agile development methodologies.
• • You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining robust application components, ensuring they meet stringent performance, security, and reliability standards.
• • This includes hands-on coding using Java (JDK), leveraging modern JavaScript frameworks, and building dynamic user interfaces with HTML and CSS.
• • A key aspect of the role involves developing and managing database-driven components, ensuring data integrity and efficient retrieval.
• • You will also be tasked with building and maintaining secure REST and SOAP web services, facilitating seamless communication between different system modules and external entities.
• • A significant part of your work will involve developing and supporting integrations with other critical DoD and federal systems, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of inter-system dependencies.
• • You will be expected to implement software solutions that strictly adhere to DoD cybersecurity mandates, comprehensive testing protocols, and established configuration management standards, ensuring the security and integrity of sensitive defense information.
• • The role includes supporting deployment and release activities, particularly within cloud-hosted environments such as AWS GovCloud, requiring familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• • You will operate within an agile framework, working in 2–6 week sprint cycles using government-provided tools like JIRA or equivalent project management software.
• • Collaboration is key; you will work closely with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to meticulously refine user stories, define acceptance criteria, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• • Active participation in all agile ceremonies is expected, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint demonstrations, fostering a transparent and collaborative development process.
• • You will be responsible for providing accurate development estimates, diligently maintaining the status of user stories within project tracking tools, and producing comprehensive development documentation.
• • A crucial component of this role is providing essential Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support, diagnosing and resolving complex incidents, critical defects, and user-reported issues to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.
• • This involves conducting thorough root-cause analysis for identified problems and implementing effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• • You will maintain the integrity of integration flows, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and overall system reliability across all connected components.
• • Proactive monitoring of system environments will be necessary to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks or functional anomalies before they impact users.
• • The role requires the development and maintenance of essential project artifacts, including detailed technical specifications, comprehensive interface and integration documentation, robust test scripts, and meticulous execution results.
• • You will also be responsible for generating clear release notes and maintaining version control logs to ensure traceability and facilitate future updates.
• • Support for Change Advisory Boards (CAB) and Configuration Control Boards (CCB) will be required, ensuring that all changes are properly reviewed, approved, and documented.
• • Adherence to DISA, DoD, and program-specific development standards and processes is paramount, ensuring compliance and consistency.
• • You will collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including government clients, fellow engineering teams, functional SMEs, quality assurance testers, and security personnel, fostering strong working relationships.
• • Proactive support for risk identification, the development of mitigation strategies, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives will be integral to the role.
• • Excellent communication skills are essential, enabling you to clearly articulate technical challenges, proposed solutions, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
