Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect the software layer that bridges Efference’s next-gen perception hardware to real-world robotic applications. You will own the end-to-end design of web and mobile control interfaces, high-throughput data pipelines, and cloud orchestration systems that allow fleets of robots to see, learn, and act in the wild.
- • Lead the creation of intuitive yet powerful UX for teleoperation, remote diagnostics, and live 3-D scene visualization. Your interfaces will be used daily by robotics engineers, field technicians, and ML researchers who depend on millisecond-level responsiveness and zero-downtime reliability.
- • Build WiFi- and Bluetooth-based communication stacks that stream sensor data, compressed video, and control commands between edge devices and cloud services. You will optimize for latency, bandwidth, and intermittent connectivity so robots remain controllable even in challenging network environments.
- • Own the backend services that ingest terabytes of multimodal data—RGB-D frames, IMU streams, LiDAR point clouds, and actuator logs—then store, index, and label them for downstream training of vision-language-action models. You will design scalable APIs, implement efficient ETL workflows, and integrate with ML pipelines running on GPU clusters.
- • Implement real-time video streaming and 3-D visualization layers using WebRTC, WebGL, and Three.js. These components must render dense point clouds, textured meshes, and bounding boxes at 30 FPS in the browser while synchronizing with live telemetry from embedded devices.
- • Co-design APIs and data contracts with embedded firmware and vision teams. You will translate low-level sensor protocols into high-level abstractions that remain stable across hardware generations, ensuring seamless upgrades from Gen-1 to Gen-3 perception systems.
- • Establish engineering standards, code-review practices, and automated testing frameworks that enable rapid iteration without compromising safety or reliability. You will mentor junior engineers and act as the technical authority for full-stack architecture decisions.
- • Contribute directly to product road-mapping and customer feedback loops. Your insights will shape feature prioritization, hardware-software trade-offs, and long-term platform strategy as Efference scales from seed-stage pilots to global deployments.
- • Collaborate daily with world-class researchers in visual neuroscience, Bayesian filtering, and neural network design. You will translate cutting-edge algorithms into production-ready services, bridging the gap between academic prototypes and field-hardened products.
- • Enjoy high-impact ownership: every line of code you ship influences how robots perceive the world and how quickly customers can deploy them. From autonomous forklifts to precision-ag drones, your work accelerates the adoption of robust robotic perception across industries.
