📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end delivery of high-impact product features that modernize how 3,000+ government processes serve millions of residents across 29 states. You’ll move from whiteboard sketches to production code, shipping resident-facing React/TypeScript interfaces and resilient Node.js/PostgreSQL services that agencies rely on every day.
• • Architect and scale a generative-AI-powered workflow engine that automates complex permitting, licensing, and inspection tasks for municipal staff. Your code will orchestrate OpenAI calls, GraphQL mutations, and AWS Lambda functions to cut days of manual work down to minutes.
• • Collaborate shoulder-to-shoulder with our Founding Designer, product managers, and the founders to translate on-the-ground customer pain points into intuitive, radically simple software. Expect weekly ride-alongs with city clerks and building inspectors to see your features in action.
• • Champion best-practice engineering culture: write clean, testable code; lead thorough code reviews; instrument observability; and set the bar for performance, security, and accessibility in government-grade systems that must be 99.9 % reliable.
• • Iterate at startup speed. Use real-time product analytics and direct customer feedback to refine features, A/B test UI flows, and roll back or roll forward with confidence—all while maintaining the audit trails and compliance records that public-sector clients require.
• • Mentor and be mentored. You’ll pair with teammates who built AI platforms at Microsoft and scaled Uber’s marketplace, while also leveling-up junior engineers through thoughtful design docs, lunch-and-learns, and empathetic feedback.
• • Influence the technical roadmap. As an early engineer in a 5-person team, your proposals on micro-service boundaries, RedwoodJS conventions, or GraphQL schema evolution will directly shape the architecture that supports 6× ARR growth this year and beyond.
