📋 Description

• Build end-to-end AI-powered software development workflows that span frontend applications, backend services, agent workflows, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling.
• Design and implement novel AI-driven workflows that generalize across diverse software engineering teams, programming languages, codebases, and development practices.
• Identify and eliminate friction throughout the entire software development lifecycle — including design, implementation, code review, testing, debugging, issue remediation, maintenance, documentation, and user support.
• Own product experiences from conception through launch and iteration, working directly on developer-facing tools such as the Codex IDE Extension and terminal interface.
• Partner closely with product, design, and research teams to translate real-world developer needs into shipped product improvements.
• Engage directly with users including OpenAI engineers, open-source contributors, startups, and large enterprise teams to validate solutions and uncover pain points in current workflows.
• Improve the reliability, observability, scalability, and performance of systems powering AI-assisted development tools used daily by developers worldwide.
• Apply AI to enhance open-source software sustainability by reducing operational burdens like contribution review, issue triaging, quality maintenance, and community support.
• Innovate beyond optimization by reimagining software development workflows from first principles in the context of AI agents as active participants in the development process.
• Contribute to tools that are used by individual developers and some of the world’s largest engineering organizations to write, review, test, and maintain code more efficiently.
• Collaborate with the open-source software community to build tools that help maintainers and contributors manage increasingly complex projects.
• Maintain a strong product judgment and bias toward learning from real user feedback to guide iterative improvements.
• Challenge assumptions and invent new workflows rather than simply refining existing ones, with a focus on redefining how software is built in the AI era.
• Ensure systems are robust, secure, and scalable to support global usage across diverse technical environments and development practices.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production systems.
• Experience with TypeScript, Rust, or a similar systems or application programming language.
• Deep familiarity with modern software development tools, workflows, and engineering practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and a strong intuition for their strengths, weaknesses, and emerging opportunities.
• A desire to own products and features end-to-end, from conception through launch and iteration.
• Strong product judgment and a bias toward learning from real user feedback.
