📋 Description

• • Design and build serverless backend services on AWS using Python (3.11+), Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge to support a global media distribution platform used by major airlines.
• • Evolve the platform’s data model and API surface, ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications and third-party systems through REST, GraphQL, and AWS AppSync.
• • Implement event-driven workflows using AWS EventBridge and Step Functions to automate encode monitoring, quality control checks, and CMS integrations.
• • Own infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python) to manage deployment pipelines, multi-environment configurations, and monitoring setups.
• • Contribute to frontend development using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS when features require end-to-end delivery, collaborating closely with the frontend developer to align API design with UI needs.
• • Develop fast, secure, and cost-efficient data-handling solutions optimized for high-volume video and metadata processing in a media distribution context.
• • Test, debug, and upgrade existing code to ensure system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency across the entire stack.
• • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to ideate, prioritize, and deliver software solutions aligned with business goals.
• • Integrate AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer) into daily development workflows to draft, review, refactor, and optimize code.
• • Contribute to the team’s evolving AI-native practices by documenting and sharing effective prompts, patterns, and workflows that improve team productivity and code quality.
• • Maintain a strong focus on security, scalability, and observability in all components, including authentication models such as OAuth and Cognito.
• • Work within an international, distributed team to deliver a unified, end-to-end media platform that personalizes passenger entertainment experiences across global airlines.
• • Stay current with emerging AI tooling and agent-based approaches, adapting workflows to leverage new capabilities in non-deterministic coding environments.
• • Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and retrospectives to ensure adherence to software engineering best practices and version control standards via GitHub.
• • Support media encoding workflows and understand streaming protocols such as DASH/HLS where relevant to feature development and system optimization.
• • Operate with autonomy in a fast-paced environment, balancing rapid iteration with robust, maintainable code architecture.
• • Drive continuous improvement in system performance, deployment speed, and operational cost efficiency through proactive monitoring and iterative refinement.
