- • Own the end-to-end development of Workshop’s internal marketing platform, a venture-backed product already trusted by Fortune 500 internal-communications teams to craft, deliver, and measure multi-channel campaigns that reach millions of employees worldwide.
- • Architect and ship full-stack features in React, Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL while maintaining the performance, reliability, and security standards demanded by enterprise customers who rely on Workshop for critical company-wide announcements.
- • Collaborate daily with product, design, customer-success, and data-science teammates in a fully remote, async-first culture that prizes written communication, rapid iteration, and weekly customer feedback loops.
- • Build reusable component libraries and backend services that scale horizontally—from campaign creation wizards to real-time analytics dashboards—ensuring sub-second load times even when campaigns blast to 100k+ recipients.
- • Instrument every new feature with comprehensive observability (Datadog, Sentry, custom events) so the team can detect anomalies, optimize conversion funnels, and prove ROI to enterprise buyers.
- • Lead technical design reviews and RFCs that balance speed of delivery with long-term maintainability, documenting trade-offs clearly for teammates who may be three time-zones away.
- • Champion automated testing (unit, integration, e2e, performance) to keep deploy velocity high and on-call burden low; expect to ship code to production multiple times per day behind feature flags.
- • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, thorough PR reviews, and career-growth plans, helping the team level-up while reinforcing Workshop’s culture of psychological safety.
- • Contribute to open-source projects and internal tooling (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform modules, design-system generators) that accelerate every squad across the company.
- • Stay ahead of emerging tech—Edge functions, WebAssembly, AI-assisted content generation—and run small spikes to evaluate how they could give internal comms teams superpowers.
- • Work directly with customer champions during beta programs, translating raw feedback into polished UX that delights non-technical communicators and earns enthusiastic renewals.
- • Participate in quarterly OKR planning, estimating effort, identifying risks, and owning delivery commitments that move core business metrics like MRR, NPS, and seat expansion.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years shipping production-grade web applications in React, Node.js, and SQL-backed architectures, with demonstrable experience owning features from conception to post-launch optimization.
- • Strong grasp of modern TypeScript, REST/GraphQL API design, relational data modeling, and cloud-native deployment patterns (AWS or GCP).
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with email deliverability, campaign analytics, or multi-tenant SaaS security/compliance (SOC 2, GDPR).
